I can scarcely remember the last time we had a top 5 power play. I for one am holding my breath - as it seems to be a sort of coaching/franchise problem.
So here it is - are we going to make it into the top 5?
lol I'm assuming you meant "estimate". I actually looked up estirate It's an enclitic form of the Spanish verb estirar meaning "to stretch". That actually works because top five might be stretching it. Funny how the world works.
Unless the Richards-Gaborik connection is lethal right from the get-go and stays strong all year, I can't see us being top-5. I think we have a solid shot at being in the top 10 though.
On paper, it should be top-15. You have Richards, one of the best PPQB's in the entire NHL. Two 10PP goal scorers in Gaborik/Callahan, and a cannon of a shot in Erixon.
Estirate - seems an appropriate word for this occasion. Of course I know estimate would be the proper word - yet seemingly inaccurate for a poll containing multiple choice.
We finished last season with a PP% of 16.9 and came in 18th. If Richards can help us bring that up just 2%, we'd have finished 9th overall. So that's what I'm going with
Where's 21-30?
I don't believe in a good Rangers PP until I see it. Too many times we had all those fancy names on our PP units but nothing to show for it in the end.
I voted 11-20, probably around 11-15...our success can really change IMO based upon whether or not we re-sign Prospal. MDZ making the team would help the second unit as well. Erixon could be a pleasant surprise as a contributor...
BR will make us better on the PP, but we still don't have a PP shooter and the lack of goal scoring still hasn't been addressed. I don't foresee a drastic change from last year.
