Really a nice update.

From his previous contract experience , one gets the impression he likes to make his decisions based on his own values only. Nothing wrong with that, but kind of made one believe he may not want to be here and if he didn't he would faciliatate that happening.

Solid piece for the ongoing Jets puzzle.

Quotes:

Wants to be in a hockey market.

Will be eligible for UFA in three years, wanted a two year contract to give both sides a chance to get to know each other and be a bridge to a longer term contract.

Confortable with Claude Noel, Chevy and Zinger.

No hesitation to sign in Winnipeg, wants to be in a "hockey environment."

Very professional ownership in management.

Great news. I'm very pleased with the terms of the signing. I'm happy with our off-season thus far. I think that we've been responsible with who we sign and for how long/how much.

About 6 hours ago Blake twitted that "tweeting from the plane is fun" (sic). Anyone know if he was on his way to Winnipeg at the time?

PS... great work Chevy!

Tsk Tsk, I hope the plane isnt in the air. They ask you to turn off those devices
Hopefully this doesnt violate a "character clause" in his new deal

It's fantastic to hear those types of comments. Hopefully puts to bed any suggestion that Wheeler didn't want to come to Winnipeg and sends a message to other players that Winnipeg is a destination for players who are serious about their game.
