Good for him. I think he'll do really well. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in Vancouver at some point.

Is it done or is it still sources say? Why is it when MacT is up for a job and he pretty much has it, it takes 2 weeks for anything to happen?

Probably because they are hoping for better candidates to arrive.

Wait, the Canucks farm team plays in Chicago? That's rich.

Haha, yeah I never though about that. This is the first year they are playing there. Also I thought that Chicago's farm team was in Chicago. What's up with that? I thought that one season when they were trying to save cap dollars and they kept sending Skille down I thought he literally just hopped in a cab and reported to the AHL arena.

The Canucks' farm team was previously the Manitoba Moose but the Moose have been moved to St. John's and are now the Jet's farm team (group that bought the Jets own the Moose).

The Wolves used to be Atlanta's farm team but it was only on a temporary basis IIRC.

During the "dark" years of the Hawks, the Wolves aggressively targeted any and all disillusioned Hawks fans. I think they are on better terms now but there is historically not much love between the Wolves and Hawks.

Canucks fans on the whole are a little bit split on having our farm team in Chicago. It feels kind of weird but we needed a farm team and it was one of the few ones available. They have made several moves specifically to strengthen the Wolves and it is hoped that the two teams can have a symbiotic relationship. Many Atlanta fans were pissed that the Wolves cared much more about winning than allowing their prospects to develop but Canuck fans are hoping they can blend the two goals (win while having prospects develop) and having a guy like Mac T down there would certainly help.

Good for him, I'm glad he'll have the chance to coach again and especially that his health situation has improved enough for him to do so. I'll miss him on TSN though! I have a feeling Vigneault will be OK job-security wise as long as the Canucks get off to an at least decent start and w/o the "SCF hangover", but hopefully this will help lead to another NHL job for MacT before too long.
