2011 Minnesota #4 Prospect

2011 HF Wild Rankings:
1. Mikael Granlund
2. Charlie Coyle
3. Jonas Brodin

After a closely contested fight, 2011 first round pick Jonas Brodin came away with the highly regarded title of being the Wild's #3 prospect over fellow defenseman Marco Scandella. Will Scandella make it two defensemen in a row? Or will forward Jason Zucker come away and steal Scandella's moment? As always, polls are open for two days and hopefully this gets read like a movie promo guy.

Also, the one addition is Chad Rau. Might have to go out of order for the next one though.

Well, so far they are going as I have voted... so this time I'm moving on to Scandella. The only reason I didn't vote for him last time was an edge for potential for Brodin... this time Scandella's closeness gives him the edge over Zucker IMO.

Newbie who can't vote, votes for Scandella.

Why? Because I think it is highly likely that Scandella is going to be at least a decent NHL Dman and have, at least, a decent NHL career.

Zucker might be the next Phil Kessel, but he also might turn into a small, fast stud in the AHL or Switzerland. As in, I'm not convinced he's going to be an NHL player. Not saying he won't be, just that I'm not sure.

But you can bet the farm that Scandella will be at least a journeyman in the NHL; I think for many years to come.

went with Scandella, biggest thing i love about him is the size of his 'nads NO I HAVE NOT SEEM THEM, just last year he had some major testicular fortitude in the way he played.

I'd go with Zucker, although Scandella is my #5. He just didn't impress me all that much last year. He'd show the potential occasionally, but wasn't consistent enough to really do anything for me...

I hope this changes though

I love Zucker's speed, shot, and hustle.

It was awfully nice of you to write down my thoughts for me and for everyone to read!
I was too lazy to type all that so I just said Scandella. But thank you!

I love them too but i question whether it will translate into a top line forward or if he's going to develop into a very good 2nd/3rd liner (both which are GREAT for the Wild)

I feel more confident in Scandella's ability to become a top four defenseman, thats he is my #3 prospect (now #4 since Brodin won...)

I am pretty convinced he will be.

But I question, will he become a top line forward or an annoying third liner that has a good shot and hustles on every shift (sort of like Clutterbuck)

The way that Zucker and Coyle clicked during the prospect scrimmages was downright scary. I can't wait to see how they match up as a second line or a scoring third line.

Scandella for me too. IMO, safe second pairing defenseman with the upside to be a #2 guy. A lot like a Brent Seabrook IMO. Just need that dynamic puck moving/offensive #1 defenseman to anchor that blue line for the next decade (looking at you, Brodin).

Gotta go Zucker.

Kids that young don't often score that much. Honestly, I like Scandella, but I just don't think he's ever going to fit on a top pairing.

I'd love the be wrong, but I see him as an unspectacular two-way, top-4 guy.
