What are you expecting of Erik Cole? [#72]

We all know there's alot of pressure in Montreal for the high salaried players.

What are you expecting from Eric Cole this season, in our defensive system?

I'd say 25 G and 30 A would be realistic and decent in Montreal. Players always get less points here...

I think not only on the ice, but off the ice he's going to be great! I have a great feeling about Cole... making some nice passes, and putting the puck in the back of the net.

If he can get 25 goals and 50+ points, I will be very happy.

20-25G 20-25A, 180-200 hits. Might not look great but he brings it every game, even when he isn't scoring he is doing something. I think his signing is going to benefit Pleck and Cammy the most. The best part is he scores his goals on even strength.

I love this guy and not just what he brings offensive wise. The guy can hit, play a great leadership role, score, pass, play a solid defensive game and score ES which is where we struggled as a team last year. Love this addition and too me i would be happy with 20-25G and 25A +around 200 Hits.

I expect him to make a difference for the lines he's put in. I expect him to make Gomez play better because of the space and net-rushing attitude of his.

I hope him to finish what we have started last year so darn often but never seemed to finish.

If he gets 45-50 points he will meet expectations. He's just such a good fit for us, everything our top 6/9 needed.

If he breaks 55 he'll definitely exceed it. If he notches 40 or below especially barring injury I'll be pretty disappointed. I might be setting myself up for disappointment given our system but I have high hopes for Cole.

20-25 goals. I don't particularly care about assists, much like Gionta. I expect consistency, hits and winning lots of 1 on 1 battles in the offensive zone.

And a long playoff run....

The Conn Smythe would be nice too!

Seriously, as mentioned, 50 pts would be great! 60pts would be awesome! 30 goals and 25-30 assists!!!

I'm expecting his space creation to induce a 75 point season in Plekanec and a 35 goal season in Cammalleri.

He's moving from Staal feeding him the puck to Plekanec feeding him. With Cammalleri also on the other wing, the Habs have two threats and will probably mean a little less scoring 5-on-5 for Cole. The part he may get better at, is the PP, with guys like Markov and Subban passing to him from the point. Even them shooting, Cole will be right there in front of the net, to screen and possibly deflect pucks.

I'd say 15 goals, 20 assists at even strength, 9 goals, 12 assists on the PP.

Total: 24 goals, 32 assist for 56 points.

You may be right, but for Cole, playing with Cammy and Pleks could be a good thing for his stats. If he goes to the net, he'll either be able to tip in a pass from Plekanec or get a few garbage goal from the rebounds of Cammy's shots...

Can't wait to see him play. It's gonna be awesome.

At least 20 goals and 45 points. At most 25-30 goals and 60 points. We signed him to be the complimentry power forward to Cammy and Pleks, and I think he'll fill that role perfectly...
