Looks like JGL might end the streak of 2nd place finishers winning the next round. Catanecci vs Tropp looks to be an interesting debate for #11.

Regardless of whether it ends up being JGL or Cat... that's quite a pleasurable top-10 in my homer opinion. And to have 4, possibly half of them being defensemen? Nice.

Maybe I'm wrong but people keep talking about potential and to me it would seem that Navin would have the highest ceiling, now whether he gets there is highly questionable. I would have imagined that had he been healthy for the year, won Mr. Hockey there's no way he would have fallen from the 2nd or 3rd round. I'm looking forward to seeing how he performs in college this season against top notch competition.

He does have great potential, absolutely. But it all depends on how people vote.

I try to vote on a combination of potential and likelihood of reaching it, hence Tropp over Navin, for example.

AJ Thelen had great potential, too, and that worked out not so good.

I went JGL over Sundher, Tropp, and Catenacci.

I had Tropp in this spot initially, but the Nats invite and looking harder at Leduc's season swayed my vote. There is clearly a third tier here that includes the likes of Sundher, Tropp, Catenacci, and others.

While they aren't swimming in first pairing/first line guys, they continue to have a lot of intriguing talent who can push for roster positions down the road. Armia is about as clear cut a first line guy as they've had in the pipeline in years. After that, 2nd line types in Kassian and Adam and 2-4 d types like McNabb, Schiestel, Brennan, Pysyk, and perhaps Leduc. They have depth and it isn't a surprise that the big club looks a bit like the prospect list -- deep but not studded with luminaries outside of a select few.

I realize that and to tell you the truth I didn't vote for him; it was mainly commenting about people mentioning who has the highest potential and leaving Navin out of the picure.
