For what it's worth, a bag of pucks will work for me.....

I would take a 6th round pick.

We need the cap space. We can always bring up Hagelin or Weise if we have an injury.

I really must be the only one likes EC... Maybe it's because I make him show up for every game in NHL 11. Well if he does go tot he Habs he's definitely small enough lol.

Not really sure what we would want from MTL. Despite the fact people would take a bag of pucks for him he has value. I wouldn't mind someone like Desharnais.

Christensen, Weise, and Mitchell for Bealieu, Moen, and Trotter,

They can have him for a pick. No room for him in the lineup.

Even if Dubi plays wing:

Richards, AA, Boyle, & Stepan are all ahead of him on the depth chart.

3rd round pick is enough for me.

EC the new whipping boy... I like him as a depth player and as we all saw last season when injuries occur who do we plug in? I'm not trading him to just to trade him if I'm sather as no EC means no playoffs last season as he won a few games for us via the shootout.

Yes Rupp and Dubinsky can play center but if the cap is such an issue I'd rather we buyout Wolski, open up a spot for a kid like Hagelin, Thomas or Zucc to win in camp and keep EC as a healthy scratch.

oh please. I'd take a 4th for him. actually a 5th since he is UFA after this season. It would be nice if we could do EC + 4th for a 2nd type of deal though. can't say we need any more prospects, especially low end ones and a package centered around EC will not realistically get us close to one of their high end talents.

Why would the Habs want to take on another one dimensional offensive player

Habs like the guy. That makes him worth a first. Just get Gainey back to do their negotiating. He might talk us in to including Redden!

Cogliano went for a 2nd. The French Canadian goon Jersey traded to Calgary went for a 5th. A 3rd or 4th round pick for Christensen. Danny Kristo can drop out of school after his junior year(11-12)and become a free agent. 4th June since he was drafted. Montreal needs help at center. Eller had shoulder surgery in May. 4-6 month recovery period.

I'm sticking with EC as a low priced reserve player and shootout ringer. Don't love him, don't hate him, but most importantly, don't really care if he's the one riding the bench waiting for someone else to get benched.

I like EC. I like what he brings and I like his price tag. If we get hit by the injury bug, he's a player who can play some of those extra minutes if need be.

Agree. He's not really a cap problem. Inconsistent maybe--but provides depth at a decent price. If Montreal wants to give up a 2nd--okay. Otherwise no--because we can use him.

His cap hit isn't a problem, but we could still use some cap space if we are going to sign Eminger.

Unless we are going to buy out Wolski, we will probably go with a 22 man roster. That means either 13 forwards or 6 dmen. If we can trade EC for a pick, it makes things a bit easier.

Yeah, this pretty much sums it up for me.

It would have to be an overpayment for me to want to move him. I'm no fan of his, but I think his value to the team is potentially more than what the return would be. I'd rather take the couple points he'll probably help us snag this year than a 4th.
