Isles sign Parrish

I guess the threat of the new CBA is having some impact, because he avoided arbitration and essentially signed for quite close to what he was making last season. He scored at something like a 35 goal pace when healthy, and was essentially the Isles best winger down the stretch. So, I think he would have gotten more of a raise under different circumstances:

For $2,350,000? Agreed. That seems to be an excellent deal for the Islanders.

I think that is less then a 10% raise. Its not clear if it is a multi-year deal, however.

10% raise isn't required for players making over the league average salary. If Parrish did sign for $2,350,000, im pretty sure he just accepted the Isles qualifying offer.

Yeah, but the website does not make it clear if he got a multi-year deal. I wonder if he passed on arbitration in return for more than one year. I guess we'll see.

It states in the article that it is a one year deal.

Any of you guy's ever wonder why they don't play Parrish with Yashin? Seems like he might be able to take some attention away from Yash while benefitting from his shot and playmaking

They've tried the two together - off and on. It just didn't work. Yashin is not really a playmaker, and Parrish's aggressive game seemed to be better mesh with Peca.

The usual; closing on a house on Thursday, getting married the first week of October and launching a new product at work in December

These trivial items seem to be taking up most of my time recently
