Lander, for a guy who won't even crack the roster too many people have too high of an opinion of him.

There are only really 3 or 4 people in this last that actually have a chance of cracking the roster (and most would be due to injuries), and by all accounts, Lander is one of them, so i'm not sure what you mean by this.

Hard to believe the most overrated of them all, Teemu Hartikainen only has 2 votes and RNH has 5. I really don't get some of you people. Klefbom? How is Klefbom overrated? He was considered steal of the draft for a reason.

Petry

I dont see him with as high of upside as some people do. I do like him though, and he looked good early in his call-up last year so i hope he proves me wrong.

To me his absolute upside is a 2nd liner, that doesn't scream 3rd best prospect on a team deep with excellent prospects.

He is rated too highly in my mind but it isn't really a big deal.
I think people really underrate his leadership abilities and that he is a perfect fit in terms of the culture that Tambo is trying to build for this team.

You could have made this same argument about the majority of first overall picks. MOST of them (especially in the last decade or so) have done alright. The pressure is immense, but I have no doubt RNH will become a star.

Give or take yes.

I see no reason why the Hamiltons, Pitlicks, Klefboms and Marincins should be clearly ahead of him. I think they are all really close.

No, really not.

And I see it as some here, I think he can be a useful bottom 6 guy in the NHL, but think many expect too much from him.

PS: It's still Plante for me.

Hahaha, I don't know if it would be that bad. But sometimes I have quickly scrolled the page and stopped at her posts and read them. Then I'm like wtf, I don't recall ever typing that.

Really not, what? There was nothing subjective about my post. He was the consensus top-ranked Swede three years before his draft and he was expected to go in the early-to-mid second by most draft publications.

If you didn't know him, it's because you didn't have a good grasp of the players in that draft.

Have to go with Olivier Roy. I haven't seen a whole lot of his play, but every time I have seen him, he was less than impressive. He's a goalie, and he's young so he has plenty of time to prove me wrong, but I just don't see that happening.

In terms of the Oilers board and their prospects I would have to say that is pretty accurate.

I guess the question is: overrated on this board, or overrated in general?

I voted for Klefbom just because it seemed like there was a bunch of ISS hype that put expectations through the roof.

The other one I might have picked is RNH because it seemed like many people had pretty realistic expectations prior to the prospects camp, and now we have people saying he could score 40 goals, but that's HF for you lol.

The fact that this has become the 'sensible' position on Lander makes him overrated, imo. its ridiculous that some here seem to want to deal Gagner so that they can pencil him in on the second line.

If he just becomes an every day NHLer, thats a win, IMO. People think they're being reasonable by saying 'good third-liner, possible second-liner if he reaches his potential' but that's actually a pretty high-end prospect and a tall order for a second-rounder (cue Zetterberg comparison in 3...2...)

PS: not accusing you of saying all this, just in general.

Petry, guy is getting close to be middle aged. Plus he struggled after being sent back down to the AHL last year.

#2 prospect??
