Found THN at the local grocery store. I'm from Oakville. Looks like its out in Ontario.

There's some really bad projections in this and I hope the others in my pool only look at this one.

Ive just been keeping quiet until everyone gets their copy. I do have a few things to say about this magazine though. I'll just say one name - Jamie Benn.

Just noticed Dobber has a "Dobber's Keeper League Fantasy Pack 2011" pkg available which includes

1) 2011/12 Fantasy Guide, with all the updates

2) 2011/12 Preseason Draft List

3) 2011 Fantasy Prospect Report

Which doesn't sound like it addresses keeper pool needs directly other than providing you with a more in depth look at the prospects but I haven't actually read it so maybe I'm underselling it. I'm sure someone else on the boards will be able to give you a better read on how helpful it might be.

Dobber is helpful for keeper leagues in the following ways:
Prospects-gives you a lowdown on almost every one
3YP-gives you a rough 3 year peak of the next 3 NHL years
Career Upsides-numbers they have potential to hit
and of course projections and observations on the upcoming year.

Actually, 3YP is not the next 3 years, but an average of what should the best 3 years of a player during his entire career.

Can't say that I have seen enough out of Dobber to say it is better than McKeens and maybe not as good as the Forecaster.

I agree. I think both the Forecaster and McKeens are better than Dobber's guide.

I kind of don't like Daryll Dobbs that much, as good as his magazine is. There's just a tinge of arrogance and egotism in his writing. Just a bit. Dunno if anyone else thinks this, maybe I've got it wrong. Admittedly I haven't followed his site before this year.

Thanks! Just my opinion though, if you want people to buy it, 20 bucks seems too much.

I agree a bit, he cares a little too much about Malkin and smaller players, which is frustrating, but he also has a lot of interesting analogies that can help win your pool. I remember the Brett Sterling is going to be a star discussion.

BTW, FantasyHockeyScouts have a few things to offer this year, Breakout Bible, the Fantasy Scouting Report and the Super Projection Stats spreadsheet, all coming out August 15 or a bit earlier.

I can certainly see where you get that from. Although I must say, he does seem to have many good ideas.

I am new to fantasy hockey going to be my first season doing it. I have a question on what guide would be more helpful for someone who is just getting into fantasy. I do know about hockey and I follow it pretty close but I don't know as much as most people so I am hoping if I get a guide it will help me
