That has to be the worst argument for not wanting to be part of a trade i've seen around here.

The players you develop are completely different players than the ones you draft.

By your logic, toronto now wouldn't trade Jiri Tlusty for Giroux, because if they wanted him, they would have drafted him..

Sorry, was quoted funny and i didn't read it correctly.

Either way, my point stands, no matter who said it. Thats the dumbest argument you can make when it comes to potential trade value.

Agreed if you want to read the other posts and my rebuttal just start at the top of this page. We only quoted each other it is like four or so posts. Pretty funny stuff.

From the oilers perspective I am not giving up eberle unless a star is coming back. I am not a fan of schenn and the few games I saw has turned me off of him

Dude, don't make me hate on Eberle. All i'm going to say is hell no from the leafs. Edmonton would say yes so fast it would set a god damn land speed record. Eberle isn't a first line center.

And Schenn isnt a #1 D, so EDM would say no so fast it was set a new air speed record, as sound travels through air not on ground.

You are very misinformed.

You can be sure they won't be trading Jordan Eberle for a defensive defenseman. There's no reason for them to do this deal, especially when they give up who will likely be the much better player in this league.

No team would do this. But honestly, Edmonton could use a Schenn like player. Not saying they should give up Eberle to do so. But Schenn would be a player they'd like. He's consistent, he's reliable, and he's going to be a great defensive d man. He won't be flashy, he won't score lots. But not every player needs to do that.

This trade doesn't work for either team. And me thinks edmonton adds not toronto, but that's just my opinion. Schenn+ only goes for a #1 center, and oilers are not trading their top line RW who is part of their core going forward. Edmonton has some good D prospects who they should let play and develop instead of giving up assets for schenn.

Ok let's not get silly here. Schenn is at worst a second pairing guy (#3 D) with huge potential left. That's a stud to me. Unless your referring to wanting a 'stud offensive D' which ok even I can agree he will never be that, that's not his game. I'm not going to bother asking you your reasoning of why you think eberle is worth kessel +... To each their own I suppose

next years draft is filled with very good D with a couple of super studs near the top....I know this therefore the Oil are aware of this too.

The Eberle's are far more difficult to find In the NHL than the Schenn's. Hell why not send a bag of pucks to TO for Komi & pick, he'd fill the gap for now.

Why are there 10 Luke Schenn to Edmonton proposals every week?

Give it up Edmonton fans.

You are aware that at Eberle's age, Kessel scored 36 goals in only 70 games, right?

Valid point, it doesn't make sense for the oilers. Woah .. Is another team showing interest in the almighty Mike Komisarek! :O.

To oilers: Komisarek + 4th Rnd pick
To leafs: 7th Rnd pick

Everybody is happy

Not the point I was trying to make. If both max out at pontential, those are the two comparables.

schenn would be your best d man.

and at eberle's age kessel already had 30 goals in 70 games.

get real.

Actually a point of note, he was 21 when he had his 36 goal season, half a year older.

But yes, it's not Kessel+ for Eberle; it's Eberle++ for Kessel. Believe it or not, Eberle is only 2 and a half years younger.

If Eberle gets 36 goals next year, I'll eat my shoe.

Don't think Kessel would be an option what so ever,

but...

Schenn wouldn't be the best D man either (R.W. is better, alot imo. No nock on Schenn)

so...

What is the right response when you disagree with someone here on HF boards?

They'd probably be paired together, no?

Give Schenn one more year (or maybe not, he was great this past year) and that's a top pair that can play big playoff minutes.

Nice hyperbole. I've seen 3 Schenn to Edmonton proposals this week. And, before that, I don't recall many (if any at all).

Secondly, if you haven't noticed, there have been basically no Edmonton fans in favour of this deal, even with TOR fans vehemently against it as well. In the MPS for Schenn thread, the Edmonton fans who said they would do it were weary and thought they may regret the trade later, but they'd still pull the trigger.

Doesn't sound like Edmonton fans who are gunning hard for Luke Schenn to me. Give up the trolling. You're bad at it.
