one of the best hockey forwards outside NHL ... I believe you all know him

was he drafted? who has his rights for NHL? what salary would you expect? ...

About 5 inches and 50 pounds? He's probably too small to be offered the money he is making in the KHL now. I don't see any teams taking the chance on him. If he was going to be in the NHL, it would have been a couple of years ago.

He's a midget; unless he wants to suffer the same fate as Nigel Dawes, he'd rather stay in Europe.

Undrafted and no one has his rights. He's looking for a spot on an NHL team and wants a one-way contract, whereas last year he got offered a bunch of two-way ones (still was eligible for an ELC).

As far as I understand he said he would play out his contract in the KHL which goes for one more year, so he won't be coming to the NHL until after next season.

He will likely get a 1yr offer of something like $1m to prove himself.

5'11" and 190lbs, that's midget? I didn't realize Crosby was a midget.

I could see him coming over if Jagr did, they are best buddies.

If Jagr signs with MTL, they could sign Cervenka since they all had some great chemistry together.

Fine, Cervenka isn't a midget like those on the Habs, but do the Habs have the roster (not cap) space for him?

As an Habs fan, i would be thrilled if this would happend, but they both would need to taake paycuts to make it work.

as Tiranis wrote Cervenka wasn't drafted .. so there is a chance for team which will sign him to get very solid player for free (no player loss in trade or draft loss cause Cervenka wasn't drafted) + he's still only 25 ( I think he can fight for calder trophy )

I thought somebody should've signed him last year, say Toronto, and guaranteed him that starting roster spot that he wanted. It's not like they had so much to lose.

Cervenka could definitely be an NHL player. He'll, I'd offer him 2M or so for a year to see what happens.

Also there's no way he's too small.

Off the top of my head, I thought Cervenka was signed for one more year in the KHL.

Secondly, NHL teams are limited by the CBA in terms of what they can offer. Because of his age, a team can only offer a one year deal ELC deal. So basically 900K + bonuses. If you were Cervenka, would you ditch a couple million guaranteed for 900K + potential bonuses? From Cervenka's perspective, it makes more sense for him to wait until he's 27 and can negotiate any contract he wants.

The Thrashers ran into similar problems in trying to lure Ilya Nikulin from the KHL.

bruins have some extra cash this offseason

what is his style of play like? more info would be appreciated.

if hes a goal scorer with speed i think the bruins would be a great fit, thats what the bruins need, plus id like to see another euro in the line-up to go with seids and krejci and kaberle

did krejci and cervenka both play for the czech team last year?

If Kostitstyn is let go next year maybe Cervenka can sign for one last season in the KHL before coming to the NHL and get full UFA benefits. (And the Habs would try to sign the guy)

Time to sign in Philly. All Czech line of Voracek-Cervenka-Jagr. Thoughts?

What would our lines be then?
Hartnell-Briere-Giroux
Jagr-Cervenka-Voracek
JvR-Schenn-Simmonds
That's pretty good looking.. hopefully it would be enough to push superstar and Nodl out. Nodl is brutal and can't finish anything.

I hate this guy. Almost everytime he plays for Czech Republic, he sucks. In Vancouver 2010 was our worst forward. On last WC was decent in defence, but his finishing was awful.

He could be NHLer, but after what i saw on OG, i donīt believe it. Well good luck to him if someone signs him.

Who will he play best with, Plekanec or Jagr? From the answer will depend where he could be interested in signing.

It's a shame they won't update it / fix the typo. He's somewhere in the neighborhood of 5'11 190 now: http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=15130
