Hamonic isn't going anywhere, how hard is that to understand?

To Edm: Dehaan and Bailey

To Nyi: Hemsky and ANA 2013-2nd

or

To Edm: Hamonic and Bailey

To NYI Hemsky and Edm 2012 2nd

According to Eklund in the past 10 days alone the nyi were

1.Gonna give Doughty an offer sheet.
2.Gonna trade for Doughty.
3.Gonna get Wolski(I'm guessing if he's bought out).
4.I forgotten what the 4th NYI rumor was

as for your proposals..Snow does not trade his top prospects/high picks for short term moves.

Gotta a link from a credible source?Botta?McKenzie?Dreger?Strang?Staples?

Stop feeding the troll.

Hemsky is great but not worth Hamonic or a potential high 1st.

If they want Hamonic it's gonna cost Eberle or Paajarvi. Even still Isles wouldn't do it because we need defensemen and Edmonton wouldn't do it because they love Eberle so it's a waste to assume that Hamonic would be in a proposal.

Have your pick at Bailey, Comeau, and/or picks though...we've also got a secret weapon in Parenteau and would be more than willing to throw him in.
How bout Bailey + Comeau + 2nd 2012 for Hemsky + Gilbert?

Can the Oil afford to move Gilbert, without getting anything in return? Strikes me that he's one of their main guys on the blueline...

Gilbert can be easily replaced by Petry in our depth chart, and I think our bottom 6 needs to get better defensively.

Whatever you are smoking, must be some strong ****.

Isles don't have a cap problem. They sit $10.8m below the floor.
Nino's ELC will eat up $2.8m.
Combined raises for Bailey+ Comeau will take up another $3m-$3.5m
Isles can sign a ufa like McCabe for say $2m in base salary+$3m in bonuses.

Isles wouldn't give up Hamonic alone for that offer, never mind them adding a 1st rounder

Hemsky is a 27 year old, injury prone winger who has one year left on his contract. He'll probably bolt for a contending team after the season. Hamonic is a 20 year old, two way first line potential defenseman. He played like a pro during stretches during the season. And, we would have to throw in a first round pick. Tell me, if you were a young, rebuilding team, who has more value to you?

Hemsky is a great but an injury prone player with one year left, so yeah, really far fetched to think Hamonic has more value :looney:

Isles don't have salary cap issues and that proposal blows.

I want Hamonic in return or we can close this thread, some call it quality for quality and adding a 1st from either side is too considered overpayment....imagine Hemsky setting up a guy like Tavares.

For what, a couple months? Then he leaves as a UFA.

Not worth giving up Hamonic for a rental.

I have a newsflash for you:this is Eklund reporting this rumor. He's one of the least credible sources out there.

Oilers are not getting any of the NYI top youngsters or 1st rounders unless Eberle is coming the other way.

The Isles, like the Oilers, are rebuilding with homegrown youngsters. They aren't trading their top kids/1st rounders for 1 yr of the oft injured Hemsky.

If I was the Islanders the only way I would trade the first in 2012 is put a condition in that if the Islander finish bottom 10, they keep the first pick and the Oilers get the 2013 first

In terms what i would trade for Hemsky(and this is under the assumption we sign him to a contract extension first)

2013 1st
Brock Nelson or 2012 2nd
Ty Wishart

It's not that the Isles wouldn't want to retain him.

The Isles have struck out countless times with UFA's over the last decade, I don't think the odds would be in the Isles favor for re-signing Hemsky.

Isles get ripped off imo. Hemsky has a ton of talent, but is still a risk after his injuries. I don't think the Islanders are willing to trade two of their top prospect either.

I don't think Hamonic is considered a prospect anymore but from an Islanders perespective I would be willing to trade 2 or 3 guys after Niedderietter, Strome and De Haan on or depth chart

What else are you going to spend your money on? Sign Hesmky long term to hell solve your cap floor issues in the future.

Hamonic for Hemsky strraight up would be fine for the Oilers even if it was a sign and Trade situation.

sign Hemsky for 5 years at $5.5 million per season and this deal is more than fair for both teams.

So the Islanders trade...

Bailey- who could still get back on track
Calvin de Haan- who was highly coveted by Snow and co.

for...

Hemsky- who is a rental, is injury prone, and might not resign
2nd '12- something the Islanders wouldn't be looking for, if Snow does want to take the next step.

Great proposal.

Im so sick of Edmonton "fans" throwing Hemsky every way to try and get a trade. The guy is our BEST player as of now, and he just had surgery on his shoulder, which is a relatively safe and successful procedure. I'm quite certain, that this year he will play atleast 60 games most likely in 70s. I dont think we should ever trade him he should be an Oiler for life.

And for the people who say he will bolt as a UFA or go to KHL, you probably hasnt heard, he LIKES IT in Edmonton, and would be looking to come back.
