That's because he didn't play at DU.

Some tidbits from Kevin Oklobzija
http://blogs.democratandchronicle.co...d-win-yes-win/

Rolston will pick his own assistants. There's expected to be 2 assistants plus a goaltending coach.

Who gets recalled is Rolston's decision. Regier says it was that way in Portland as well.

The Amerks are not required to play the Sabres style or system.

Winning is important.

Quote:
“I picked Ron up this morning at the airport and we talked and I told him we have to win in Rochester,” Regier said. “For one thing, I believe it’s important for development. But this is also a demanding place. The Rochester Americans have a longer history than the Buffalo Sabres in the American Hockey League.

“It’s important that they have separate identities. We want our players to be Rochester Americans, to learn to deal with that responsibility in the community, to carry the responsibility of being a Rochester American and not just being a subset of the Buffalo Sabres.”

George looks a little crabby.

Regarding a skating coach, Besa Tsintsadze was the Pens guy when Black was there and he's branched off into private practice in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area. It'll be interesting to see who they have brought on in this capacity.

Apparently, both the Skating Coach and Mental Skills Coach are women. Good for them.

Also, it will be interesting to see if McKee gets a look as one of the Amerk assistants.

The "Kassian treatment"?

Good time to do that, they've got an extraordinary amount of top prospects who could use an improvement in that skating area.

If you believe the source that says Adams will be the assistant coach, then no, McKee is not in the running for an Amerks job.

Scratch JF from a list of possible assistants in Rochester.

Good for Houle. Big fan of his since his Clarkson days.

He was a character and a heck of a hockey player at Clarkson.

It doesn't surprise me that he's become a good head coach.

I admittedly don't have as significant of a "finger on the Pulse" of the Q as I'd like, but from what I gather and from watching a few games of the LEW/MTL series, this past season might've been his top coaching performance to date.

It was his first full season as a head coach and he'll only get better.

I think the Armada are lucky to have him.

Boughner is going back behind the Spits bench.

Scratch another idea for an Amerks assistant....

This is great news, particularly the skating coach.

There was never a chance Boughner would be coming to Buffalo/Rochester. Family and business issues first and foremost -- and those are both in Windsor. The Wings job... well, that's a bridge-ride away from home.
