Well, I'll weigh in on the QB debate. IMO, Brees, Rodgers, Brady, and Manning are the 4 elite guys, but I kind of want a 1a and 1b tier, because the consistency, winning, and/or longevity of Manning and Brady need to be recognized as a reason to be ahead of the 2 others.
I agree with this assessment and would add that another way of saying what was stated is that Manning and Brady are in the conversation for GOAT where as Brees and especially Rodgers have a long way to go. They are both on the path but very early in their journeys.
At the same time, Rodgers and Brees are worthy to be called the best in the game game right now. One season does not make a career.
As for Vick, I'm just leery from previous experiences with him in fantasy leagues. He's always been sporadic and a less than trustworthy starter/point producer. Last year there was more consistency but I think that was an abberration and not the norm.
I don't think it was underrated. He got every single first place vote for the MVP if I'm not mistaken. In fact I read a column somewhere around week 13-14 that said something along the lines of "Tom Brady could take a knee the rest of the year and he'd still have the MVP locked up".
Anyways the amount of disrespect Vick gets in this thread is ridiculous. So racist.
I am a huge fan of Brady's and still think Vick was playing above and beyond of his capabilities OR he has turned a stage in his career and is getting much better.
I do think in football you have to win something before being considered in that elite class. Aaron Rodgers right now might be the best QB in the league then Manning, Brady, Brees, Vick. (In that order)
Anyone saying Aaron Rodgers has only been doing this for 2 years you also forget he had a hall of fame QB in front of him, and once he took over he has had no blemishes. I think he will be like Brady and end up with 3-4 superbowls.

Now that's ridiculous. Peyton Manning wouldn't even have a superbowl if he didn't play against Rex Grossman.
And no way Rodgers is better than Manning or Brady. When he plays as well over a full season as Brady did last year or Brees and Manning did 2 years ago then he can be put above them. Until then he's below those guys. He needs to have a truly great season before people start talking about him like they are. It's a bit premature imo. Great playoffs and all but give it time. That and like you said he's really only done it 2 years plus he's had a great supporting cast. Look at the team Manning took to the playoffs last year.
Never noticed that Ricky Williams signed in Baltimore. I guess he passed the physical today.
Yep, i'm happy for him. I saw some of "run ricky run" the 30 for 30 on him, and have even more respect for the guy. He's a different individual. Very introspective, not focussed on money or success, a family man, not outgoing. All traits that might not come to mind with thinking about an NFL athlete.
The fact that he left the NFL and millions of dollars in the peak of his career, speaks volumes to what he really finds important in his life.
I'm a huge dolphins fan, but won't buy a new jersey to replace my #34 R.Williams. Maybe reggie this year tho...
Where is Rivers name when listing top QB's in the league? Every year since he took over in San Diego after Brees he's put up big numbers.
He's a top-5 QB for me.
My list in NO order:
Brady
Manning
Brees
Rodgers
Rivers
I like Rivers a lot more than a guy like Vick, who I think won't have near the same success as last season.
I put Vick with the 2nd tier QBs like Roethlisberger, Ryan(though his long ball accuracy needs to vastly improve, because it's really bad IIRC), Flacco, and possibly Romo and/or Schaub.

Thats exactly the same order as my top 5 qb's.With Rivers last year they took all his weapons away LT,Vincent Jackson was a holdout and Gates had a few missed games due to injury .... And he still put up big numbers.Yes they didn't make the playoffs but special teams was awful and the D was terrible.

And there lies where I think it shows you how in a sport like football we isolate to many of the players and say oh if he didn't play against so and so or with such and such players.
For example... Is Robert Luongo an Elite Goalie ... NO . You have to win the big games, and I for one wouldn't call Peyton and Elite QB if he didn't win the big game. Regardless if who he won with. That goes for Dan Marino he's not up there with Elway, Bradshaw, Montana, class of quarterback. I wouldn't even put him with the Steve Young category.

To many young guys want to put guys like Crosby with Gretzky, Lemieux, Yzerman then they apply this to every sport.
Your obviously from overseas and never seen Rodgers play. I have seen every game this guy has played and your going to be eating crow in a few years. This guy has accuracy of Manning, strength of arm in Brady (a guy who wasn't known for arm strength when he got in the league) and he has Micheal Vick unpredictability with running the ball. This guy has a great team but I remember what announcer saying last year by the end they were letting him design plays and make more of his decisions on his own.
The only thing against Rodgers perhaps could be perceived as a weakness is that he has no fear and will run the ball maybe to much.
I am a huge fan of football first, then the players. Brady is great still quite micromanaged by Belichuk (thats coming from a Pats fan); nothing wrong with that you have the greatest coaches behind the bench you take instruction.
Manning (why i put him second best, great player, horrible leader on the field)
I hate hearing always what players Manning had to play with. Look what Brady did last year with basically Wes Welker and a bunch of rookie tight ends, and Moss gone the 2nd or 3rd game?

Um.....They ranked #1 in total defence yards per game allowed...and #1 in passing allowed per game......and #4 in rushing allowed per game.
So I'd say they had one of, if not the best defence?
Actually it's called a Stadium for football and baseball and yes they always have in the old Meadowlands(Giants Stadium) and last year they both moved to the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford,New Jersey right beside the old one.

I'm the biggest Luongo hater on these boards but that's insane and the second statement is equally ridiculous. You'd really take Eli Manning over Mike Vick?
I know we do fantasy leagues here every year, would anyone be interested in a pay-in pool somehow? I don't know how it would work, but I've always wanted to throw in like 20 bucks in an actual pool, but I don't have enough hardcore NFL friends to make a pool myself. Ideas anyone?

Speaking of Rivers, who are the top 3-4 receivers on the Chargers?
Well, his top 3 targets are his 2 WR's Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd who decided to stay in SD, and his TE Antonio Gates.
Pretty sure Patrick Crayton is staying in SD, so he might be their 3rd WR, and then it seems they plan to split time between Tolbert and Matthews and RB, at least until one of them shows they deserve more touches than the other.
