This is a bit of a stretch but I went with Riley Sheahan. He had good production in the NCAA tournament at a point per game. I think he has a breakout season this year. Add Joakim, some guy named Mike Babcock likes his game and thinks he's an NHL player.
Has to be Mursak here. He may not have the upside of a Pulkkinen, but he's NHL ready with great wheels and room to improve. I think at worst we get a solid 3rd liner/very good 4th liner.
Argument: Honestly, i like Mursak but he's nothing more then a bottom 6 kid at this point. Jurco has more high-end potential and is more intriguing. I understand the logic of NHL ready but if we did that on prior ranks then idiots like Meech would have been top 6-8'ers.. that's not right. A blend of pure talent and likeliness to make it seems in order. I know Mursak should make it but some also thought Ritola would as well.

What, so Ritola's done is he?? News to me. I'd expect him, if he's over his ear issues, to be a permanent Tampa player next season.

Went with Mursak on this one. Not just because of NHL readiness, but also because I think he could easily be a really good third liner with top six upside. And IMO he isn't even comparable to Ritola who doesn't have much to offer tool wise. Mursak has really nice wheels and slick hands. Emmerton is more comparable to Ritola than Mursak.

this fits Emmerton more than Mursak really, both of those were borderline NHLers and Mursak is already more than that with some good potential still too
I agree with the order so far. Gotta be Mursak now. It's way to soon to pencil in Mursak as a career bottom six player, he has some serious skill. Players like Jurco or Pulk may have a higher upside but with polls like these you have to factor NHL readiness into voting eventually.

Disagree with the Meech comparison. In Meech, we knew that we were simply getting a bottom pairing guy at best. That was his ceiling. In Mursak, i feel like at worst he's a bottom 6 forward. The likes of Helm and Draper have shown us exactly how much of an impact a quality bottom 6 forward can have. I think Mursak has that type of impact in him. From what i've seen: he's a very good skater, solid along the boards, defensively capable, and has some offensive skill to his game that will show more with time. In essence, i feel that he has the tools to become a very valuable NHLer, regardless of whther he gets labeled a "bottom 6 forward." And on the upside, i think that his tools could give him the opportunity to grow into more and be a role player in the top 6.

With Sheahan's & Jurco's puck handling skills, I bet they could go the length of the rink, passing to each other lacrosse style, w/o the puck touching the ice

Ha, good point! Maybe they'll get the team to start playing lacrosse rather than that soccer/hackey sack game everyone plays now.
