Puck Daddy's 25 Top Left Wingers

Do your worst.

Hartnall at 11? Leino magically moved back to the wing?

Another poor showing.

Puck Daddy's Top 25 LWs (w/ Sabres on it)

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puc...urn=nhl-wp9767

Quote:
8. Thomas Vanek, Buffalo Sabres: A pure sniper who needs someone to get him the puck. The Sabres' offseason spending spree will help, even if the talent upgrades didn't include a playmaking center.

14. Ville Leino, Buffalo Sabres: The Sabres made a six-year, $27 million bet that he's more than a 19-goal scorer. We'll see how he fares in his first real chance as a go-to guy.
I think the Ehrhoff addition will help Vanek on the PP, at least.

Given how Leino hasn't played center yet in the NHL, I can understand why he's on this list.

Great to see our future top 6 center projected to be the 14th best LW in the NHL this coming season

He played some center in Detroit, but fit better on the wing there because of their existing center depth.

He also spent time centering Briere and Hartnall over the last couple seasons. Center is his natural position.

Yes and no.

Its basically laziness (not doing basic research) on the part of the article writer not to know he is going to be used at center. Its not as if Regier and Ruff didn't mention several times when they signed him that they want to use him at center.

After seeing the previous two lists (center/RW) I doubt much checking and/or research goes into them.

It boggles the mind sometimes to understand how people get PAID to write trash like this. The entire series has been poorly written and minimally researched.

You heard it here first, Morrow will have a better season than Vanek.

e: Also Ladd is much better than Hartnell.

Given that Ennis scored 49 as a rookie, he must really think Ennis is going to regress as a sophomore. That, or he doesn't even know Ennis exists or plays LW.

This whole series was looney tunes.

Three separate threads with the wrong title - Greg Wyshinski (aka "Puck Daddy") did not write any of the three ranking articles. Just because they appeared on Yahoo like his columns normally do doesn't mean there's some co-authorship...

Puck Daddy is the name of the yahoo hockey blog, not just articles written by Wyshinski. Hence "puck_daddy" being in both the url, and at the top of the freaking article in question.

Well, in all fairness to the OP, the banner at the top of the article says "Puckdaddy a yahoo sports blog"

I think the best peach is having Bergenheim 25th. The guy has never broken 29 points in the NHL and just got traded to a HORRIBLE team.

Vanek is behind Lucic? Really? I know Vanek is very underrated, but his near 50 goal year should have him above that bum!

Erik Cole, Ryan Smyth, Alex Tanguay, Simon Gagne and Patrick Elias? It's apparently 2006 again.

As an avid reader of Puck Daddy, I can tell you that any opportunity that any of the bloggers have at taking potshots at the Sabres, they pounce on. I vividly remember them ripping the Sabres for not making moves when Golisano owned the team, and now they blast the team for spending money. WTF are we supposed to do here, geniuses?

More on topic, these lists of forwards have been seriously laugh inducing.
