I wasn't a fan of either the name or the logo originally, but both have grown on me a lot. Of the names listed, I now think it was the best option, and I LOVE the circle logo!

I actually like the name, logo, and colors. Never understood the "LOL CHRISTMAS COLORS XD XD!!!" comments, I don't see anyone comparing Philly's black and orange to Halloween. Just wish our jerseys had some consistency.

Blue Ox would have been my first choice though.

Oh the RHI. That league is home to some of the worst nicknames ever - I swear there was a team called the Buffalo Wings.

The Cincinnati Bengals are sometimes referred to as the "Trick or Treats" because of their black and orange colors.

You never hear Paul Bunyan's Blue Ox Babe called an Oxen... it's Babe the Blue Ox. That's what that name was intended to be after.

Yes, but the plural of "ox" is "oxen." You've never heard of the Pittsburgh Penguin, San Jose Shark, or Winnipeg Jet.

I do like the name and our look of the franchise. I hope in the near future we scrap the red jersey and make the current 3rds our home jerseys. I liked the idea of putting the wild logo on the shoulders as the patch instead of the main logo, i think that'd look good. Too many red home teams, and green represents the 'wild' too, makes sense to me!

Yeah, but when it comes to team names, proper plural gets thrown out the window. Minnesota Wild NEVER has an S.

For me, and I think a lot of people, this is actually one of the biggest sources of scorn towards the name "Wild."

Same thing would've happened with both the Blue Ox and the Freeze had either name been picked.

I get it for Freeze; that, like Wild, is just a horrible name that can't be pluralized well. But Blue Ox? Why would you name a team after a singular noun? That's just beyond idiotic.

Which is why the idea was idiotic to begin with as well.

Unfortunately, the team did not select very good options to pick from. As I mentioned before, I didn't like the Wild name initially, but it has grown on me, and now looking back I think it stands above the rest. That doesn't mean at the time it did... at the time they all sucked as options IMO.

Is there any chance in hell the Wild are going to be switching the green jerseys this year to their primary home jerseys? Its the only jersey they use when introducing new members of the team.

What are the NHL's policies on jersey changes anyway? I saw them someplace before, but cant remember where.

I do not know the date. There is one, and I tried to find information on the subject, but drew a blank. A team can submit an application for a change its uniforms up to a certain date, after which they have to wait until the following season. After the Islanders first year with the Fisherman, they did not apply soon enough and had to endure another season with those monstrosities. They have to apply because the board of governors has to approve of it. It boils down to a sober second judgement. Canít have teams wearing uniforms that are too similar. Hehe. Yeah, itís pretty much a rubber stamp.

Yeah they are showing them off a lot, using it for yeo, draft picks, becoming wild. Obviously management likes them the most, i don't see why they wouldn't change it soon.

They should call it the "Minnesota Grinders" and get on with it.

But seriously, I always liked the Wild name and logo. It just... works.

I wish we'd change the road sweater to match whatever the home sweater ends up looking like. I hate that our roads look absolutely nothing like either of our homes.

I love the name and its definitely the best choice out of the 6. The logo I thought was amazing, creative and its just fitting.

I think you should just try to get over it, team has been in the league for 10 years. Like someone said, its original, but not too far. Embrace being different and not your usual Panthers or Lions or frigging Patriots. And no name makes better puns on NHL.com

How did they pick those 8 name suggestions though? They were all pretty lame. Northen Light would have been like North Stars but the ******* of a dwarf little brother. Only reason to hate the logo is some kind of tradition-hugging or conservatism which I don't want to have any part of.

We'd still get stuck with green and red though:
