Same here - like others have said he is a class act.

Rolston was a great sport in this last stint with the Devils.

I approve of this. I've always liked Hunter.

We have breathing space against the cap now, and we can basically afford to pay Parise 10 mil per now, if we wanted to.

Basically moving Rolston creates a space for Henrique, unless we're planning on using Hunter regularly. It also allows flexibility with Elias, because Rolston doesn't have to be up his ass.

Great deal for both sides. We clear space, they add some. They clear out Hunter who has been hit or miss IMHO, and get veteran leadership.
still have to clear a contract for a pick/futures. i'm thinking that pelley is gone. maybe corrente. there's going to be no place for either of them soon enough.

it's a shame though. i like both. for that matter, i really liked rolston this go around as well (if only for his attitude to everything).

That comes way out of left field. Fantastic news! Rolston was pretty effective last year with Zubrus and Elias, but definitely made too much $$$. Brilliant deal by LL, no reason at all not to get ZP locked up long-term!!!

at first glance i thought it said Roloson!!!!
good pick up, i'd have prefered a defenseman , but Rolston can help us on the ice and towards the cap floor

They can both (Pelley/Corrente) can assigned to the AHL for that matter... It doesn't mean much short term IMO.

There is no roster spot for Henrique. It was a player for player trade. Hunter takes that roster spot. It opens up money for Parise and perhaps a fair chance for Salvador to make the team if healthy.

Nope. Lou sucks. Doesn't have it anymore.

I recall a poster here calling this the worst offseason in Devils history a mere two weeks ago.

Funny what happens when you have a slight bit of patience.

The Devils announcement of the deal includes no conditional pick. So, that's not part of it .
Per TG. So player for player trade.

Definitely going to miss Rollie. It was said a bunch of times in this thread, but he was an incredible class act this past season and I definitely gained a lot of respect for him.

I love him as a player. He was a big asset to this team and a cornerstone to the top-six for the several years he was here. It's just the price tag that he came with.

Wish him all the best. Welcome aboard Trent and hi Zach

hell of a trade by Lou, genius move! Now Pete has a top 6 of Elias, Kovalchuk, Zubrus, Parise, Zajac, and Palmieri to mix and match.

Is Hunter actually going to play or will he be traded/waived/buried/bought out?

Rolston seriously might have been the classiest player ever through this little ordeal.

I know I'm going to root for him to have a good season.
