Injured.

Nice deal for both teams though. Didn't Rolston have a NTC?
Wait until he meets our medical staff. He's gonna be BFF's with Bryce Salvador.

A pick is going back to the Isles. A conditional one in 2012, that's why I asked earlier what the pick was.

EDIT: No, the other way around:

There is a conditional pick going to the Islanders, not sure what the condition is but I'm assuming it would be the number of games Hunter plays since he's coming off a serious injury.

Yeah, this definitely seems like a solid hockey move. Devils save 3 mil and NYI gets a solid winger. If all goes well they might have a chance at the playoffs.

Now what would really be cool is if we could flip Hunter for a 6th or 7th rounder.

I like this for both teams. NJ needed cap relief, Isles get the better player without any money owed next year.

This is one of those deals that makes total sense for both teams. Great trade, GM's!

Rolston, welcome to the circus. Buckle up

Good trade for both teams. I don't even know if hunter has much of a career left. He knees are shot. He's a shell of his former self. But the devils get 3mil in cap space and the isles add 3mil and get a veteran leader. Fair trade for both.

TG is saying the Devils gave up the pick and so is NHL.com so I guess we need to wait for clarification.

Makes a lot of sense from both sides. Knew these 2 teams would be trade partners in this situation.

Good deal for both teams. Hunter hit a snag somewhere while the Rolston dump was required.

Another NTC is waived. How bad is it in NJ when a guy waives to go to Long Island?

It means he doesn't have to move his family.

Now if Lou can trade Hunter for a 7th to free up another #2M I will wash his car for free.

What the hell are you talking about...its a salary dump and considering that Rolston was waived last year and he was hurting us with his hit, he isn't wanted. ANd Long Island isn't so bad any more.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with this. Isles have done a good job in the vet presence department getting guys like Reasoner and Rolston.

Hunter...injuries turned him from a respectable 3rd liner to 4th line/extra. He's also painfully slow and he used to rack up hits, but after these injuries, I just don't think he'll be able to keep up anymore.

Snow basically does Lou a favor here in freeing up some cap space. Sure, Isles had to reach the floor, but they could've just signed a guy like Stillman instead of taking on a division rival's $5.0M cap hit when they need it most.

This trade works with me. Cap space for the Devils, some vet presence, PP service and eats up cap space for the isles. Ive heard that the pick is going to the devils and another says its going to the Isles. Anyone know which is true? And what the conditions are?

One of those rare deals that makes extreme sense for both sides. Rolston will be a mentor for the young guys, and he will look great playing with Streit on the PP.

Not on the Devils website...

Edit, nor in the Isles announcement either.
