Torts doesnt like to carry extra forwards. He likes his extra d-man.

As for this trade proposal.. Nope. We could either buy-out Wolski and gain 3,333,333.33 or let him get some real training from camp torts and see how he flies.

If we keep Wolski which is possible (we will know by tomorrow as the buyout window opened yesterday and it is 48 hours) than I would like to see how he does with a full training camp under torts. It seems people who go through tort's training camp of hell really benefit as they are completely fit and buy into his system. Wolski could become a real stud for us or a real dud. We ONLY have one more year with him so I rather just keep him on the roster.

Then just let zucca start in the ahl or trade EC and thats enough capspace.

Wolski has negative value. Rangers do this just to get rid of his cap hit, while the Sens don't because Foligno is a better contract than Wolski.

Why did you include Yogan and Ottawa's 3rd in the deal? It simply confuses things. The Rangers obviously like Yogan, they drafted him. However, he missed almost all of last year after surgery. Teams aren't going to be lining up right now to trade for him.

The Ottawa fans in this thread really like Foligno. Given his age, he fits well their rebuilding project.

The Rangers don't need to move Wolski's salary. As others have pointed out, they are likely to carry 22 players at most. Zuccarello is not eligible for waivers and can move freely back and forth during the season. That's good scoring depth because injuries will happen. Every Rangers beat writer has pointed out over the last couple of days that Wolski WILL NOT be bought-out. They will have roughly 1.365 mill. in cap space with Zucca down in Hartford.

The Rangers' main problem last year was a lack of scoring. They wouldn't move Wolski for yet another defensive forward. No matter how well you play, you don't win if you can't score goals. You may hate the warts in Wolski's game, but he brings far more of what this year's team needs than Foligno.

Right on point. The only reason to try and move Wolski was if they were cap-locked. But because of the excellent deals for Richards, Callahan and Dubinsky, the cap won't be a problem. The team still needs high end offensive creativity and Wolski may be a flop but it's worth spending Dolan's money to find out.
