Unless we're getting a defenseman back with similar ceiling to Sbisa then no thanks.

Ducks are high on him and shown a lot of faith with the new 4 year contract he got, he's developing into a nice two way defenseman that plays very physical.

Actually they do
Just because you go to Sweden as an rfa doesn't mean you're not owned by your NHL team
Since JJ was tendered, he is An rfa property of the isles still

Sbisa is Anaheim's version of de Haan and/or Hamonic. There's no way you'll just pick him up for nothing.

Make it Pedan, Andres Lee, and two second rounders (2012 & 2013) and the Ducks could consider it.

I highly doubt it. I mean I am very oppose to giving up prospects. I know it is what it takes but I would rather not trade at all at that juncture.

Quantity isn't going to get you Sbisa.

Start with Hamonic. Sbisa is a future top pairing dman for us, your not going to get him for average prospects and picks. Even then your probably going to have to overpay for him, Anaheim coaching staff are pretty high on him as well by giving him the 4 year deal.

Sbisa is a big part of the Ducks young core.

They would want an impact player in return.

Why do people ever propose deals for players who just resigned?
GMs dont ever trade someone they just signed.
It just doesn't happen.

Wiz was a sign and trade by the Ducks, they had no intention of keeping him at his pricetag.

Yeah, it was pretty different circumstances.

And even then, that's two examples over two offseasons.

It doesn't happen very often, at all.

And if he said "rarely" I'd not have challenged his statement. But he said "GMs dont ever trade someone they just signed." and "It just doesn't happen."

Im sure if we look we we can find other examples. Yes it doesnt happen often. But you can not say that it Doesnt happen. When A good deal (no refering to this proposal, just making a generalism) comes along to improve your team, you dont worry that you just signed that player.

OK, so it happens *sometimes*. If it improves the team. Next question - how does this deal improve the Ducks? They trade a big part of the future of their 'D' for one player - a marginal 3rd/4th liner who doesn't contribute a hell of a lot other than physical play - and a couple of futures. Yeesh, it just doesn't add up.

It doesn't matter that Sbisa recently signed a contract or not...that is not why he wouldn't be traded in this scenario. He wouldn't be traded because it's a terrible offer to the Ducks. It's that simple.

You realize that Sbisa was a big part of the package we got for Pronger? What awful awful asset management this trade would end up being.
