Might as well start a new thread for these two as well. Lots of videos and pictures have been revealed from both games already.
I believe this is what EA have been hyping most about:
Here's a couple PES 2012 videos:
I believe this aspect they've been trying to improve most this year:
From what I've read of PES so far is it's looking again much better than last year, goalies still need work (especially on animations) but they seem to be improving on every build of the game. Not sure if I'll get either one of these this year either but I'll try the demos again.
I've always been a PES guy but the last couple of years have switched me over to Fifa. Probably stick with them until they screw up.
Same. I sold my Fifa 11 couple weeks ago and applied the money towards my pre-order of Fifa 12. Only $40 ($20 gift card on Walmart pre-order). I wish the manager mode on Fifa was a little more in depth, but the refined gameplay won me over.

Looks like they improved the manager mode this year by adding transfer requests and the youth academy.
Btw does anyone know if they are any new stadiums added this year? I'm tired of playing my MLS games in Eastern Europe
I'm almost positive they do. I cant remember where but I remember reading an article on fifa 2012 that mentioned scouts.
I've bought the last three FIFA games, and while I've enjoyed all of them, i'll be interesed to try the PES demo and see how that active AI stuff works. If they could implement that well that would be a huge improvement.
Too bad PES hasn't got back to where it was pre next gen consoles. PES dominated FIFA up to the next gen consoles, then FIFA took over.
I'll probably buy FIFA again and rent PES to see what it's like.
Yeah, Konami have taken their time getting adjusted to the 360/PS3. BUt they're gettign back there, from what I've read last year, PES 2010 was already a step in the right direction.
By the way, EA have announced that the PC version of FIFA 12 will be identical to the console versions.

That's good to hear, I loved the gameplay in the old PES series and all the editing options on top.
Looks like I'll deffs be checking out PES this year

Does the 20$ apply directly to the game or to something else you would buy?

I came here to ask this. Great news, at least Fifa continues on PC, other than NHL
I'm not gonna buy it this year and I don't really know which is better with gameplay...they're different. But I like FIFA because of the Ultimate team mode. I'm building a Bundesliga FUT 11 team and I don't plan to purchase FIFA 12, would rather keep building that other team (anyone wanna donate coins lol?). Reason is because EA don't make enough changes to the game to buy it every year, maybe every 2 or 3 though.
Also, if you wanna play NHL on PC then go and get NHL 2004 and then download the NHL 2004 Rebuilt 2010-2011 mod. It has updated rosters, jerseys, graphics, (waiting on Winnipeg), etc and the gameplay/rosters have been modded so it's a lot more fun than the console version (NHL 10 on PS3, I skipped NHL 11).
The only thing PES12 has over FIFA is Champions League.
On the other hand, if FIFA does secure rights to CL next year, we might expect typical EA behavior in releasing CL as a standalone game like Euro or WC, instead of integrating it into the game.
The only mode I play in these types of games is the Become a Legend/Be a Pro mode. I last tried FIFA's two years ago and it was terrible. PES's was good but not great but still far and away better. If PES has improved the bad things enough to the point where it's worth it to buy a new version I'll buy a new version, otherwise I'll stick with the old versions until they make it better (promotion and relegation please?).
And I'll probably buy the next FM as soon as it comes out too.

They still have the EL/CL under different names which is decent.
I'm more disappointed in a lack of international tournaments and teams.

Good. The version of FIFA 11 was also identical. Sadly, the poor like me likely cannot run FIFA 12 on their computers. PES it is.
