Kovalev to join Atlant Mytishchi

All the best to him.

If Shero hadn't signed Sullivan and we lost TK to free agency, I would have been willing to give Kovy a 1 year/1 mil deal to see if he can gel with geno. All malkin needs is someone with hands to play some give and go. DB isn't kovy's biggest fan I'd imagine but if we were in dire need of a RW, I would have taken a gamble.

Can't knock Kovy for his short stint here.... he was playing with a bunch of no talent grinders, which isn't his game at all. I think if he was paired with Sid/Geno, he definitely would have produced.

Yet you knock Neal for his lack of production, and Neal had an even better excuse - he had to play alongside Kovalev.

Yeah, replace Kovy with Neal:

Good for him. IF he's lucky maybe Philly will sign him to a contract in a couple of years as well

Thought he might show up at a camp somewhere, apparently there was no interest.

End of his hockey career. Why not head home and make a little more money before you retire. Easier life, own language and culture. Good luck to him.

End of his NHL career. They play hockey in the KHL, too. It just looks funny because the rink is too big.

If anything he brought Letestu and Neal down. Cris Conner brought more offense to the table than he did. I understand why he was brought in but we would have been better to just keep the 7th round pick.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has trouble scoring in the KHL.

That's what I thought as well especially considering Kovalev always said he really didn't want to go to the K. Definitely wish the guy luck.

He can't play at the NHL level anymore. He still has some skill but he doesn't have the legs. Should be okay in the K.

Hope he does well. Sucks it didn't end better for the guy. But like others have said, look who was playing with. I'm happy we took a gamble on him.

I am devastated.

Which according to the CNN definition means I'm perfectly fine but I want people to think I'm devastated.

He was brutally slow and at times didn't look like he cared, but he's still one of my favorite players of all time. Hopefully he gets bank back home and he becomes a star in their league.

Glad the last team he played for in the NHL is the Penguins.
