I love how he can't fight in September against top flight competition, but he can fight a scrub in October.

Yeah.

I don't see him being in the UFC for a long, long time.

Interesting video. Skip to about 9 minutes if you want the hospital footage http://www.mmafighting.com/2011/07/3...es-video-proo/. I don't know what to think at this point

Yeah, I was just coming to post that.

Ridiculous that they cut him.

Ultimate United Golden Glory? Haha, so much glory. It seems this is after Zuffa issued the September ultimatum. I've read Kharitonov may be participating in the same event.

I'm guessing Zuffa isn't a huge fan of Golden Glory's management.

Einemo shouldve never in the UFC, so no loss. Overeem was only there because of his brother, so no surprise either.

That leaves Coenen, which is a bit more of a surprise. Wonder if they'll scrap it as a whole, or keep it on a smaller scale.

We'll see what the UFC does with the female fighters. There isn't nearly enough for a whole division. My idea, if I were the UFC, would be to only have the champ in each division under a multi-fight contract. Then, each time they need another fight you sign the challenger. You could maybe stretch it so that you have a #1 challenger fight ready too, so 4 fighters maximum under contract per division.

Also agree with this. Truthfully they can have Carano and Tate as ring girls, get rid of Chandella, and have Mrs. Cyborg fight vs men at 135. Ditch the rest.

That's correct. While this move screams Vince McMahon style management, the end result isn't that big of a deal.

I wouldn't mind them keeping womens MMA champs if the womens title fights were only 3 rounds.

No real big losses there but I'd like to know why this happened. Did Golden Glory try to treat Zuffa like they have been treating Strikeforce for years? Just like with Fedor/M-1, Strikeforce really had no choice and had to do whatever Overeem and his management wanted. Zuffa has enough stars on their roster though and they aren't going to let anyone treat them like crap.

I guess we can forget about Overeem coming to the UFC. Some people thought he was cut from Strikeforce so he could sign with the UFC. Don't think that will happen now.

Yeah, it would be even more surprising if Overeem ended up in the UFC now. Too bad.

We are more likely to get a new UFC/Pride Unleashed featuring Overeem vs Shogun, Lil Nog and Chuck on Spike, though.

You don't think that cutting the rest of a camp's fighters because one guy wasn't playing ball is *******?

Obviously the guy is not the most articulate, but his points were there.

edit: For some reason the page isn't loading anymore.

It's definitely suspicious but let's hear the whole story before we go off the handle and post huge rants on the internet. For all we know, Golden Glory could have tried to pull an M-1 and the UFC told them to stuff it
