Parise or Backstrom?

Which elite player would you rather have? I think Parise's never ending motor and goal scoring abilities puts him above Backstrom in my books.

As much as I love Backstrom, I'd like to see him produce well without Ovechkin before I place him above Parise.

Parise might be a bit better but for whatever it's worth, Backstrom is definitely cuter.

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Semin
vs
Parise-?-Kovalchuk

Ovi really makes Washingtons first line, but then again, NJD needs a good #1 center to paa to Kovy and Zach

don't expect to see kovalchuk playing RW ever again. That was MacLean's first mistake.

Parise is a top 5 player when healthy. That's why. Guy is better on the PP,PK, and even strength. Even seems to be a leader off the ice.

LOl you kidding? Parise in his prime is not a top 5 forward much less top 5 player.

Id take Backstrom everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. Backstrom is very underrated yet i dont understand why when he has shown this year that he can carry a team with a struggling ovechkin that hasn't even been on his line for the majority of the season. Hes also 3 (or was it 4?) years younger than Parise.

Backstrom for sure. I thought that he had proven at this point that he is not a product of Ovechkin?

I wouldn't go that far. Elite? Yes, but not top 5.

I might have to go with Backstrom, a center of his caliber is a lot harder to find.
