Ales looks like a kid who is not very confident at the NHL level. Somehow I believe MacT has to find a way to get this young guy someplace where he will achieve success. He might need two quality linemates....1 who is a banger/scorer and another who is a better scorer. Torres/Moreau and York might work, thought I'd like to see more size alongside Hemsky. I think his third season will be the best yet.

Whenever it is, patience is the key.

This kid is still a kid, but has great offensive potential.

maybe Brad Isbister & Ryan Smyth with Hemsky. Isbister is that big player, and Ryan Smyth is that banger. Brad Isbister has a pretty good shot, I think that would be a solid line Smyth-Isbister-Hemsky, or maybe Hemsky at centre, i've seen a couple people mention that idea here. what do you guys think?

You know, if ever they did

Smyth - Hemsky - Isbister

all three would have a chance to breakout, or in Ryan's case a career year.

As was pointed out in this thread already, Hemsky is a good to great passer, Isbister has a very good shot and Smyth would be there for rebounds. Maybe Hemsky at C isn't a bad idea.

I think Hemskey would be allowed to slowly develop on a third line consisting of:

Moreau-Reasoner-Hemskey

His defensive shortcomings would be covered for, and his linemates do have some offensive potential.

hemsky will emerge as a legit #1 winger either the season after next (whenver that season is) or once he puts 15-20 lbs on and starts to shoot more..... i imagine the weight thing will occur gradually, and he'll prolly (like most men) start to really fill out around 20-21, or in another 2 years, which is why i say 2 season from now

H started to shoot a bit more there right before he started to go in the tank. Let him play HIS game is what I say - there are no confidence problems with him as he still tries to make defensemen look bad, instead of making the safe play (he'd have confidence problems if he never tried to beat Dmen, but alwasy just made the simple/safe play). Adding some size, and really, just playing like he did in the first third where he was right there with York for the lead in Oilers scoring will get him that breakout year. As said -I don't know if next year will be that breakout year though...... I would probably bet the year after (4th year is always the most common/safest year to see what you are actually getting)

I just traded Jokinen, and Vandermeer for lombardi, hemsky and a 2nd

I'm banking on hemsky to break out... his skills are just too great

One thing we should mention is that although Hemsky looked lost for much of the season he did have 34 points, and 30 as a teenage rookie. He may be struggling, but at least he isn't struggling at the AHL level like the laundry list of first rounders whose names we all know.
