everyone in here thinks Dubie will be on Richards line!? I know lines shuffle back & forth, but i feel the Rags will look like this opening night

Fedotenko Richards Gaborik
Dubie Anisimov Callahan

I'm praying JVR and Voracek, but safe bet is definitely Tavares.

as much as I hate Marchand, I think he will break out next season. 19 pts in 25 games in the playoffs.

Watch out for Berglund. He was coming into his own with Stewart on his wing at the end of the year and was dominant at the WC.

I think the pick of Benoit Pouliot to break out is an interesting one. He's got the toolset and skillset to do it, the question is if he can put it together. As I understand it the system he was playing in in Montreal and the one he was playing with in Minnesota both put a restraining hand on Benoit's ability to play physical and go get guys and hit them. We in Boston have seen with guys like Lucic and Marchand that some players need to have that in order to thrive. Maybe Pouliot is one of them. If that's the case, coming to Boston, which is a team that isn't afraid to let players run around a little as long as they do so responsibly (such as don't take stupid penalties up a goal or tied) might be the best thing for him. Also I think he'll be playing with Seguin and Kelly, and that's a good environment with a playmaker to feed him pucks and a defensive guy to cover his butt. Not bad.
You guys are gonna be sooooooo disappointed!!!!!!!

As long as he doesn't take away time from Seguin on the PP I don't care what he does.

Giroux top 5 in scoring. Not a young guy, but Mikko Koivu will have a PPG year, and he will be nominated for the Selke.

This. The second I saw this thread I thought Pouliot. I catch heat from guys on our own board, but I've been high on the pickup ever since it happened.

While Myers can't exactly be categorized as a "breakout" player, he could grab his first Norris nomination with all the talent on Buffalo's defense. I guess that should count for something.

Marchand for me. I think his game will keep on rolling from the playoffs.

Ya, Marchand is a beast. I can see him being a very good player next season.

For me, I think it'll be MPS. He's overshadowed by Eberle and Hall but the guy is an elite talent. Hopefully he gets on a line that he has chemistry with.

Mikael Backlund showed some good chemistry on the Flames' top line centering Iggy and Tangs towards the end of the year. If he gets a chance on that line this year, I hope he'll top 50 points. His defensive game improved in Abbotsford and I think it continued to do so under Sutter last year, and he's a smart player. If he gets his chance and doesn't muck it up, his may at least be seen locally as a breakout season.

I'd say the most reasonable answer (note: anything can happen in hockey) has gotta be JVR and Marchand.

Both guys showed some jaw-dropping ability (and I'm not referring to Marchand's chirping haha) both during they year and the playoffs.

Nothing below 80poits for JVR would shock me and something around 60-65points for Marchand.

Tavares - will hit ppg this year
Hall - will be a 35g+ scorer
Callahan - 60 point 2nd liner
