Honestly i'd say thats a pretty steep price from the leafs end.
I wouldn't mind Hatcher,but for less.

No need for Tucker since we have the Grindline, and without Hatcher our defense is physiclly weak, so if you want Hatcher this deal is better:

Kaberle and Colaiacovo

for

Hatcher and Flippula

Having said that the Wings won't trade Hatcher because they're always competing for the cup and like I said without Hatcher we're physiclly weak.

While that would give the Wings a top notch defensive prospect, it would take away their top forward prospect. I'm a lot higher on Meetch and Quincey than I am on Flippula and Hudler. I think I'd pass.

I don't think the Leaf fans would go for trading Tucker either. Plus Hatcher has a NT clause in his contract.

in all honesty its probably a fair deal from the value stand point.

But, detroit doesnt have the depth to back that move up on Defense. Sure they get a top 4 guy and a prospect who could be top 1-2. But they would take an immediate hit NOW.

Bring this trade up next year. When a few more wings retire, and they are starting to do some minor rebuilding.

John Fergy is holding real tight to our superstar Tucker. We're not gonna let him go. He is the Kaspiritis of Toronto! He rules man why would we trade him!

No from a Toronto POV. Hatcher can barely skate now, I'm sure his trade value has hit rock bottom (especially since he has 25 million dollars left on his contract.)

I'd love to get a guy like Hatcher, but I'm not altogether enamored with the length/terms of his contract.
An interesting proposal, but I'd pass all considered.

hmm...being a toronto fan. i would say we dont need hatcher. no doubt he is good...but i'll also bring a fact that detroit is ok without him. Hatcher never manages to stay healthy. My advice, get rid of him while he still has some value.

so because Hatcher has one season ending injury he gets hurt all the time? right...

Anyway, that trade is laughable. Grigorenko is more skilled than all thoes Leafs combined. Colaicovo is so overrated. I watched him here in Erie and the guy is terrible. Kaberle makes what 3 mil? How much is tucker overpaid? Worst trade idea ever.

Worst case of prospect overrating as well.

Thats a little extreme.

And yes I agree Hatcher isn't injury prone.
