Kings ARE looking to move dmen but at the prospect level. We have a huge glut of them.

If the Kings offer us Voynov or Martinez for Comeau you pull the trigger. Both are PMD and will fit into our core/rebuild.

Martinez for Comeau makes too much sense.

If you're willing to take either of those, how about Justin Braun from the Sharks? Not saying Braun's equivalent to Martinez or Voynov; was just under the impression that the Islanders wanted an established PMD, not a prospect.

I don't like the idea of trading Comeau for a dman who was 6th on your team in TOI with 15:16 minutes of ice time per game.

Sharks are trying to sign Colin White (not a rumor, confirmed) which means White is either ok with sharing minutes with Vandermeer (which doesn't make sense) or Sharks are planning to trade someone and White is the replacement. Vlasic is the logical choice.

So, back to Vlasic for Comeau?

I'd be good with that. What if it were Murray over Vlasic? Does the draft pick switch sides?

The org values Murray higher than Vlasic from all indications so the cost would be higher.

Damn. I like what Murray brings (size and hits obviously).

Seems like White is signing soon, Comeau just signed so he can be traded soon.

Were getting to the bottom of this very soon

No, IMO, Vlasic slightly > Murray only because of having youth on his side. So if Murray, than maybe a 4th or 5th from the Islanders? He's also signed for 2 more yrs

Not really, just years of them talking nothing but praise for Murray and fairly regularly implying Vlasic needs to improve in some area or another.

I'd say they are pretty close to equal, but I think DW values size and physical play so probably prefers Murray of the two.

You do realize who he played behind correct?

Doughty
Johnson
Scuderi
Mitchell
Greene
Martinez

I don't care. Isles aren't shipping out a guy who scored 24 goals for a guy who will just be behind Streit, Macdonald, Hamonic and Eaton. Jurcina will likely get more ice time then Martinez as well given that Jurcina will get lots of SHTOI.

Fair enough - I see where you're coming from but that could also be because Murray, at 31, has no more potential. WYSIWYG. Whereas Vlasic is really all about potential (for good and bad).

Now with White on board, I can see any of the following:

1. Vlasic for Comeau & 3rd
2. Murray for Comeau & 4th
3. Braun for Comeau

The only one I don't do is Comeau for Braun, nothing against Braun, it's just that I'd want a little more experience.

Braun for Comeau isn't enough from San Jose. Braun hasn't proven anything at the NHL level. Comeau just scored 24 goals for the Isles. It would need to be Braun and a 2nd or 3rd.

Well, we do have two 2nd round picks next year: Minny's and the 25th (once we let Patrick White go).
