Never said I'd do it or even that I liked it. I said Dats for Kopi straight up is fair value IF we're rebuilding and IF the Kings are all-in on winning right now.

Cry more.

Yes but we've only just started the "my reason for rejecting the trade is way better than yours" part of the thread.
Yeah, baby.

It's so embarrassing being a Wing's fan on this board. I used to think they were just trolls, but no, these people are real.

So logically someone needs to show some logical reasoning as to HOW this is not good value. It is great for both teams needs. LA and WIN NOW and Det for the future.

Hudler-Datsyuk-Brown
Gagne-Richards-Penner
Clifford-Richardson-Fraser

Stanley cup winning top 9 for sure.

Either a troll or doesn't know anything about the Kings. No Williams, no Stoll, Fraser in the top 9 is a Stanley Cup top 9??

Do you know what logic means? because you just continue saying the same thing without reading all the reasoning that Kings' fans give. All you notice are certain names so you just switch them for the proposal. Stop trolling. Just stop.

Switch out the Det 1st and 2nd and insert Cleary then. So the final proposal looks like this and no way can LA deny this.

Datsyuk
Hudler
Cleary
Smith

Hudler-Datsyuk-Brown
Gagne-Richards-Cleary
Clifford-Richardson-Penner

More win now for the Kings since the draft picks are out and a top 6 forward is in. Now not only do they get the better center, but even more forward depth which is what LA was lacking. Defense takes a bit of a hit, but this domination of a top 9 is worth it. Smith is ready for a top 4 role in the NHL right now and would make the loss of Doughty worth it.

Kopitar
Doughty

Franzen-Zetterberg-Holmstrom
Bertuzzi-Kopitar-Abdelkader
Tatar-Flippula-Eaves
Miller-Helm-Mursak

Lidstrom-Doughty
Kronwall-Ericsson
Kindl-Stuart

Wings lose lots of forward depth, but with their high ranking forward prospects they will be able to plug them in during the next 2 years and have a better core group of forwards then compared to the past few years. The upgrade to Doughty is worth it because the Detroit forwards in the farm are looking to be very impressive players.

5 years from now look to see this from Detroit...

Franzen-Zetterberg-Nyquist
Flippula-Kopitar-Mursak
Abdelkader-Jarnkrok-Pulkkinen
Miller-Helm-Eaves

Kronwall-Doughty
Kindl-Stuart
Ericsson-White

Howard
Osgood

I'll take the HF hit. Please stop posting trade proposals. You are terrible at them. Even for a fantasy league they would get shot down.

I won't go as far to say what fan base you post like, but my god, could you be any more farther from reality?

You want a proposal between these two teams that actually might make a little sense(and I'm not saying everyone will agree, but maybe they won't *****)

How about: Voynov for Axelsson. Two players that aren't going to make the team this year, straight up. Axelsson was one of the top players in the SEL, and has character 'issues', Voynev, might leave NA because he can't get a chance with LA.

Both have high end potential, both not getting a chance.

And, both are not other teams core superstars.

Jesus ****ing Christ. STOP ALREADY! Your newer proposals get worse and ****ing WORSE! Are you 14 years old? Or do you spend your whole, entire day playing NHL games?

What's even worse is you have hudler over Gagne and Penner....somehow Penner shifted to the right wing, perhaps you also snabbed Stoll, Lewis, Parse in the process.....

Penner-Kopitar-Williams
Gagne-Richards-Brown
Parse-Stoll-Richardson
Clifford-Lewis-Westgarth

Doughty-Mitchell
Scuderi-Johnson
Greene-Martinez

Quick/Bernier

That roster is better than any of the so called "win now" rosters suggested by the OPs trades with Detroit. Dean doesn't have to make any more moves to "win now". He already did it by getting Richards and Gagne.

Right. Yzerman made it past the first round of the playoffs once in his first eight seasons, so he deserves some of the blame for that. Granted, he did score 47 points in 39 games during those eight seasons, but yeah, he deserves some of the blame for only getting out of the first round once

Drew has been in the NHL for three seasons and has 11 points in 12 playoff games while Kopitar has five points in six games, while missing the playoffs this year due to injury.

Even Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky-led teams missed the playoffs or failed to get out of the first round, you can't blame a player just because he's on a bad team. Mario didn't even play a playoff game until his fifth season, but he should take some of the blame too right? 516 points, and an Art Ross/MVP trophy in 292 games wasn't enough.

Blanket statements, blaming players because they were unfortunate enough to be drafted into a team that is rebuilding and full of young and unproven or veteran but underskilled players for post-season failure is just backward and illogical.

Because you don't want to wait for a player to develop when you want to make a push now. If we knew Schenn would reach his full potential next season, would we have traded him? No. But he won't, Richards is ready to be that player next year, so we made the move. Same thing Detroit has dne in the past when making their cup push in trading for Shanahan for example, or one of their many trade deadline deals over the years.

Do you watch hockey, or even watch your own team?

In what backwards, Bizarro-world section of planet Earth is trading Doughty for Smith "a bit of a hit?" Doughty has three full seasons under his belt, along with a Norris nomination and an Olympic gold medal while Smith has never seen an NHL rink outside of training camp. I also like how Smith is viewed as having some solid offensive skills, yet Drew can outscore him, despite playing a level above him.
