Don't worry about it and do what WBG does. Have some more ice cream. Ohhhhhhh, I am sooooooooo going to get it for that one.

If you want a candy bar, have one. It's the only way to keep yourself in check and the momentum going. I find that when I deprive myself of something, it's all I can think about. If I were in your shoes and wanted a candy bar, I would not eat it when I wanted it and end up breaking down and eating 4 later.

Eating 1 is better than eating 4.

For the past six weeks for so, I've been doing Jim Wendler's 5-3-1 routine. Awesome program. I don't care how weak you think you might be, if you do this, you will get stronger.

I'm honestly going stronger than ever.

Ever since I started my new job, I've been getting in the gym like gangbusters 5-6 days/week. I outlined a bunch of goals a few months ago re: lifting, and I think I'm well on my way.

Here are my current numbers:

The deadlift 385 x 3 was on Saturday, btw. I could barely get out of bed yesterday and today. Such an awesome feeling.

Not doing well with the working out. Not feeling well physically or mentally either. I know the two are related.

I'm still working out and sticking with the WW diet. But I think I've hit the wall with losing weight. I'll see what happens tomorrow.

Never mind. I lost another pound which means I've lost a little over 40 pounds on this program. Say what you want about the nutty people running it, but Weight Watchers does work. Of course, our leader went on about how much easier it is for men to lose weight than women. Right Katie ?

11 more pounds to go...

Oh, and by the way, this just for Kovi from our weekly pamphlet:

Yoga Myths --- Busted

1) You have to be flexible
2) Yoga won't get your heart rate up
3) You have to chant

There ARE details with each of these, but I'll have to scan it in later and attach it to a later post.

I've lost another 3 pounds so according to Weight Watchers I've hit goal at 188, but I'd still like to get to 180 or even 184-185. I'm pleased and it's nice to be below 190 again and I intend to keep it this way. If I can manage to work out 6 days a week like I have been it should be easy enough. And I'll shift one of the cardio machines and start using the weights now.

Deadlifted 405 x 4 on Saturday afternoon, a new PR.

Getting sick now though -- sucks. Gonna take the day off from the gym and hopefully be in better shape tomorrow.

Now the hard work begins. My previous PCP always told me that anyone can lose the weight, the challenge is to keep it off. 43.8 pounds is something to marvel at though. Another 3 pounds and I'll weigh the same as when I get married some 24 1/2 years ago. (Yes, as people noted in my bday thread I'M OLD).

I remember posting this thread on habs board. TBH, anyone ever get the feeling that they aren't in great shape but not bad enough to feel motivated? I'm 6'4 245 but most people say i'm 210 so it's hard to feel a sense of urgency or whatever. So I have good streaks then kind of stop. I hope I manage to gain a permanent motivation soon enough.

According to Weight Watchers, if you're 6'4, your weight should be between 169 and 205. So 5 pounds isn't that tough to lose, although I'll find out soon enough because that's how much more I WANT to lose. When I went through heart surgery I found motivation aplenty so I hope you don't have to find it THAT way. Two choices of a bunch for finding motivation IMHO. Finding and joining a decent Weight Watchers or joining a gym. If you join a gym, find someone decent to teach you how to use the cardio machines and weights. If you try out the cardio machines and you experience exhaustion after the first day, I think you'll find your urgency. There are lots of people on here more experienced in the teaching end of this kind of stuff than I am that can probably advise you better than I can. I'm just on the doing side of things and have done lots better than I ever expected.

I hit 20 lbs lost as of yesterday. I would like to get back to the gym to get some momentum back.

Also quit smoking....hoping that makes me feel better and makes the gym easier.

You misread. People SAY i'm 210 but I'm 245-250. Techanically I should be 40-45 lbs less, which imo I feel i'd be a stick. When I was 16 I was 6'3 220 and people told me to eat. It's cuz I played hockey a lot as a kid and have pretty big legs cuz of it now.

Pretty much my thoughts. BMI has me at obese, but at 230 lbs I'd look jacked so...I don't really listen to it much. It doesn't take into account above average muscle mass, so if you train or play sports, odds are you'll weigh a little more.

Im 6'1" nearly 6'2" and not even a full 150 pounds.

Im not scrawny either at all. I honestly dont understand why... I wouldnt trust set numbers telling you that you need to weigh a certain amount to be normal

BMI can **** off. I've been "morbidly obese" since 6th grade. I have some pounds to lose, but morbidly obese? Morbidly obese people aren't 3-season athletes.
