Next year Parise will be a free agent if the Devils don't sign him long-term. Do you think the Devils will end up signing him long-term? If not where do you think he might end up?

Think Sather will send a frontloaded contract like he did with Richards.

Leafs or Rangers. Everyone wants to play for them.

I would love to see him on the Kings but I think he will cost to much. But it is to hard to say 2 years ago who would of thought the Devils would get Kovy.

i honestly think teams are scared of that happening, and i really think buffalo would trade for his rights before July 1 and try to get a deal done.

I'd love to see him sign with the Wild, or Nashville.

Pittsburgh could make a good run at him. $$ plus the prospect of playing with Crosby.

Close to his current home and where lots of other Americans and Olympians will be. A team that won't be afraid to open up their purse to pay him. A team that will need a top6 left winger. A team that will be young and challenging for the cup. A team with a light travel schedule in the east. An original 6 team with history. A team that has a top flight #1 play making center to pair with him.

That's where he'll want to play.

He'll sign an extension with NJ long before he reaches UFA.

Blues should have a new owner by then looking to make a splash and the money/cap room to make it work. Of course, his wanting to play in STL would be a totally different question.

Pick 10 of the best contenders for the Cup.

That's a start, maybe money is a concern but if you sign with a team that is set up for the future, I am sure you take a little less than market value just to go to that team for long term success rather than going to a team that might get there eventually.

IF he doesn't sign with NJ, which I'd say is more likely than not, I'd say a few of the more likely contenders would be:

Kings: God damn would that be a scary line-up if they could make it work cap-wise. Seriously, dynasty potential. Big city but relative privacy. Could be a perfect fit.

Penguins: Malkin/Crosby/Parise. Nuff said.

Wild: Just was the doctor ordered for the offensively challenged Wild, a hometown boy to lead their young talent to playoff success.

Rangers: Best believe Sather will be in this race.

Even though I'd love him on the Leafs Burke's refusal to offer a front-loaded contract probably takes them out of the running.

Is this thread really necessary? You couldn't just read one of the 10 proposals posted within the week?

But ya, IF he hits the free agency market, the Wild will go after him hard as they already attempted to move Burns for him before he was subsequently moved to San Jose. The Wild will have the cap room and aren't shy about spending for players or to the cap. Not to mention what it would do for the team in terms of marketing. Zach would look great alongside Koivu and Heatley.

He may follow Ryan Suter seeing as there reportedly best friends. If he doesn't re-sign with the Devils, I think he goes to the Wild or Kings.

IF and that is a big if Parise leaves NJD, I'm going to say he goes to the Avs. There are a lot of Americans on the team (Stastny, Johnson, Mueller), the Avs have virtually endless capspace to give him a big deal, by next year they will be an up and coming team. I'm trying not be a homer, but it makes so much sense for Parise to come to the Avs.

Thinking he'd sign anywhere but Toronto is just wishful thinking. The amount of pull Brian Burke and Ron Wilson have with american players is tremendous.

You can stop dreaming now Kings, Rangers, Sabres fans.
