Florida - Nashville (Take a guess)

Flo-rida
Weber

Nashville
Booth
Upshall
2012 1st/2nd

Florida has p. bad defense, and Nashville has p. bad forwards. Helps both teams.

Not a chance. If the Preds wanted Upshall at nearly 4 mil a year, they would've signed him as a UFA

Two 2nd line wingers and a 1st for a franchise defenseman?

Our defense isn't great, but it's not bad.

Weaver-Garrison was one of the top pairs defensively last year.
Campbell is a good D-man, just overpaid.
Jovo is below average defensively, but is good offensively.
Kulikov is a soild two way defenseman, and Gudbranson looks like he is legit.

doesn't do anything
booth is a good player, but not as a centerpiece to the trade
upshall is redundant because jordin tootoo does everything he does at a lower cap hit
1st round pick is a magic bean, even if it's a good draft

the last thing florida needs is another d-man as it is, they can wait 3 years and have their own Shea Weber with Gubranson.

A player signed this summer isn't going to be moved, makes no sense. Weber's a franchise d-man.

And our D is bad? What is p. bad? Possibly? Why not type that?

Weber should have his own Sub-Forum and this is a terrible offer

Haha is this like the HF Board version of limbo? See how low (quality) you can go with a Weber proposal?

If Weber left it would be because he wants to go to a big league market, Florida is not it.

you seriously couldn't figure out that p.bad means "pretty bad"?

this trade would make alot more sense if florida was giving up one of it's stud forward prospects like howden or bjugstad instead of upshall. no team is going to trade, or trade for, a recently signed UFA. if nashville wanted him, they would have signed him. if florida deals him, it sends an awful message to any free agent in the future.

Nashville really screwed the pooch taking Weber to arbitration because he is now likely gone at the end of the year, at least, according to various media sources. If this is not true (and Pred fans are in the best position to know), then the Preds should resign him long term End of discussion.

If Weber is likely gone, then it probably makes sense to move him, but Florida is not the right trade partner for several reasons. The Panthers lack high end talent and even Weber, for all his ability, only makes them a marginal play-off contender. The Panthers are already paying Campbell $7 million and lack the money to add Weber. finally, the team is in rebuild mode and needs to keep its N0. 1, which will likely be a top pick in a great defensive draft.

No from Nashville. I dont think its even an option at this point to even think trading Weber. Maybe next season if he looks @ a 1yr deal again but hes still RFA next season
