The Pioneers are proud to select injury prone, overpaid, and aging veteran Paul Stastny from the Colorado Avalanche.

76th in points last season. You expect him to get better eh? I could see it. 28 goals on only 162 shots. He was 154th in shots taken. If he takes more shots he could increase his goals more. Plus a whole season on the top line, gelling. Interesting pick at this point.

76th while missing 20 games due to a freak hand injury during a fight though

That puts him on pace for 53rd in shots, and dang! 8th in points! Just by repeating last season's pace over a complete season. Nice.

I think it was a good pick, he wasn't on my radar this high, but I think he could pay off big.

That's what I'm banking on. The winner of this draft is going to have to get lucky with a few picks.

Yeah I debated between Stewart and a few other guys, but his potential was too much to pass on.

Ralphy logged out two hours ago and who knows if he'll be back online tonight. You could wait or send me a PM shortlist with his name, or check back in the morning.

Because the clock goes 24 hours, 3 hours each window, it is worth making it a habit of checking in every morning to see if the clock has moved up to oneself.

53/62*82 ~ 70 points. 70 points would've been 24th last season.

Kesler at that position would be a steal in any other draft, but in this one it won't be seeing as Keslers injured at the start of the season you can be knocked out in November and not have a single point from your 2 nd round pick.

True but there is a risk/reward factor here. I take Kes and am able to put a pretty good team together than I get rewarded.

I got a crappy position here so I have to take some risks to be able to compete more.

I know his condition and everything but as I said risk/reward. If this pick works out I'm going to have to gloat because of that post

He had 70ish points last year, you passed on guys like Briere, Spezza, Kessel, and Heatley. Who have extremely good chances of matching his 70 points, and they won't be injured for the first part of the season.

Youre giant risk, could potentially, if you're lucky, get you an extra 5 points in the end, if you even make it that far.

But I get taking risks, I just don't think this one has a big reward, I'd be saving the big risks for the late rounds, that's where these drafts are won and lost.
