Say he never retired. I think he can. I wont forget the Avs cup run that year.

Foote-Bourque was the meanest D pairing.
Blake-DeVries?
Skoula-Klemn

He's got five Norris trophy's that would disagree with you

He'd have to reduce his ice time but I think he could still get it done.

This has nothing to do with being a Bruins at all. All player from Quebec, including non-Habs are hyped to death here.

Was he an Hall of Famer. Hell yes.
A great defenseman ? Yes
A Norris-type defenseman ? Yes

HF rank him as the 7 best hockey player of all-time. That's a joke. As good as he was, he never had that little something that made great player, legends.

Really, his carreer have been an huge failure all-along in crucial situation. He never won a Stanley Cup where he belongs and even with a stacked lineup that took him 2 try.

Avalanche loosing by one in game 7. 20 seconds to go.. Sakic to Bourque, last chance for the Avs, Bourque with the big slapper from the point, oh right on the pose. He had a 2 squarefoot hole to put it in, but miss it. This shot resume his carreer so well.

When he finally won it, he wasnt that much of a factor.

1. Wayne Gretzky
2. Mario Lemieux
3. Bobby Orr
4. Gordie Howe
5. Maurice Richard
6. Patrick Roy
7. Raymond Bourque

10. Mike Bossy
11. Terry Sawchuk
12. Jean Beliveau
13. Guy Lafleur
14. Doug Harvey
15. Eddie Shore
16. Phil Esposito
17. Jacques Plante
18. Howie Morenz
19. Stan Mikita

22. Marcel Dionne
23. Denis Potvin
24. Jaromir Jagr
25. Dominik Hasek
26. Paul Coffey

You should have included that information in your first post lol, that first post was begged to be ripped apart, but now that i see where you are coming from I agree, While I think Ray should be in the HOF i don't think he should be 7th best player of all time.

That has to be one of the most ignorant posts in the history of posts...you say it like everyone scores from the blue line with a slap shot...and where is this 2 sq.ft hole? Show me any goalie that has that much space with a shot coming from 60 feet away.

Then how is he the highest goal scoring defenceman of all time? Check the stats, because he is.

410 goals for bourque. Most by any defender all-time. Yep, missing shots really was what he did his whole career.
