This is not for Yandle or any top 4 d-man, but I think this will address a need for a season or two.

get Lee Stempniak and a fourth

get P.A. Parenteau, Jesse Joensuu's rights, and a 3rd

Stempniak would be awesome on a line with Tavares and Moulson

In order for this trade to happen, PAP MUST go to create room, since there is no where to put him on the Isles. With only one year left on his contract, he can act as a placeholder for Brett MacLean or Tikhonov.

Joensuu is going to be overseas for two years, but since the Isles gave him a QO, his rights are still owned by an NHL club. He has the potential to be a good third line player. The problem is in two years, he might not have a spot on the Isles.

So what do you say?
Deal, close, respectfully decline, hell no, or go **** yourself no

Take out the 4th coming back to us and I think PHX might bite, I am a fan of Stemp I wanted us to sign him when he was a UFA.

I won't lie I am not familiar with PHX needs.

Pointless trade. PAP isn't the answer. Neither is Stempniak. No reason to waste any asset on Stempniak...

Heck, if you're gonna trade PAP, just trade him for a defenseman (which is by far the most pressing need) and move Okposo/Niederretier/Rolston up a line.

As a Coyotes fan, I see this as somewhat of a lateral move, but I probably still do it.

What the Coyotes truly need is a center. Can Parenteau play center at all?

He can, just as Korpikoski can. I think Maloney would be looking for an established center if he was to move Stemps, even if it meant expanding the package to make it happen.

the point of having Parenteau is having a cheap right handed playmaker. Trading him for Stempniak doesn't make sense.

Islanders give up too much. PAP would be plenty, straight across.

The problem, though, is that you mention PAP as a place holder for either MacLean ot Tikhonov. Neither player is waiver exempt any longer. Both have to clear waivers to be assigned.

I like Stempniak quite a bit. He always hustles and is the go-go kind of player I enjoy watching. He can also get the extremely hot hand and score goals in bunches. He's as good a bet for 20 goals as anyone, and delivers at a relatively small cap hit. That said, he doesn't really fit our needs all that well.

We were a top five team in the league in goals for versus goals against during five on five play. Our PP and PK percentages however, were bottom five in the league.

Stempniak was not a top PP producer nor was he a valuable PKer. As such, there are probably role players that would be more valuable to us.

Tikhonov is a good PKer, NHL proven in the role, even. I've got a hunch MacLean would be a great third man high on our new look PP. Deadly hands, and all.

I'd be more inclined just to trade Stempniak to the isles for a 3rd and let you guys waive someone to make room.

Have the Yashin rumors died out?

Is there a reasonable package that would return Bailey to the Yotes?

Stempniak, Summers and a pick?

Maclean, Rozsival and a pick?

The Yotes badly need a top 9 center and probably need to move at least a winger and possibly a Dman.

I like Stemp too but Tippett kept him with Fiddler all year. Not sure how the guy is supposed to break out on that line. The year he and Pyatt had playing mosty with Fiddler was pretty impressive imo.

And none of them should be expected to contribute much.

If NYI is looking for a winger for Tavares something around Brett MacLean and a pick for Josh Bailey makes sense to me.

I'd love to get MacLean I think he will break out given decent minutes and line mates, but PA or another winger will have to go the other way, we are full in top-6 wingers at the moment.

It would be amazing to acquire Bailey. I'd be quite eager to discuss a package for Bailey.

I wouldn't include our 1st, Turris, Boedker, OEL, or Gormley, but I'd be happy to discuss any other assets NYI might be interested in. I doubt guys like Murphy and Lessio are really realistic, but guys like MacLean, Tikhonov, Brown, Hextall, Lane, Schlemko, Summers, Goncharov, Stone, Ross, Brodeur, our 2nd through 7th rounder next season, and vets like Stempniak, Pyatt would be available. I've probably left some guys out.

Anything make sense for Bailey.

Agree....

What do you think PHX interest in Nabakov might be, especially if he comes in and plays well the first 20 games of the year?

Probably only mild interest. By the sounds of it, they are prepared to live or die with Mike Smith as their starter.

I really think Bailey would only be moved for a top-4 D at this point. If he is moved Reasoner moves into the 3C spot and Haley takes over 4C.

Would you do Maclean, Klesla and Philly's 3rd for Bailey and Nabokov?

What about Maclean and Klesla for Bailey alone?
