Trade to Prepare for the Future

My team is very young except for goalies. I also have a deep prospect pool in everything....except goalies. I was offered Jacob Markstrom for RNH but I had to turn that down. He also offered Markstrom for my 1st round prospect pick next year (which will likely be 1st-3rd overall). Should I take either of the offers or stick with my team and hope for Yakupov

Center
Jordan Staal
David Krejci
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

Right Wing
Drew Stafford
Brandon Yip

Left Wing
Milan Lucic
Ryan Malone

Defenseman
Victor Hedman
Alex Goligoski
Adam Larsson

Goaltenders
Dwayne Roloson
Semyen Varlamov
Mike Smith

took over the team before last year started. Literally had nothing to work with. The guy before me was awful. I had Gaborik but traded him for 5th overall pick (Couturier), Etem, and a 2nd round waiver pick. Also Marleau I guess was one of the top players I had to work with. Traded him for goligoski and hedman.

hold onto rnh and you're pick next year, prospect goaltending is such a crapshoot you should be able to run into something decent without giving up a blue chip forward

Got a lot better offer from the guy. What do you think?

I get:
Jacob Markstrom
Mikael Backlund
3rd round prospect pick

I give:
1st round prospect pick (likely top 3)

still wouldn't do it. when markstrom does end up playing he's going to be on a panthers team whose defense spends more time slashing their own goalie than protecting him from flying rubber, backlund isn't anything special, AND next years class by all accounts is supposed to be better than this years.

would you give up rnh, landeskog, or huberdeau for that package? I wouldn't do it just to make your prospect pool more well rounded. as i said in the first reply, you can run yourself into a decent goalie prospect next draft instead of overpaying for one now.
