Good news although mono does take it's toll on a guy so he won't be 100%

True, but still even a 50% Barkov will help the team. Also being years away from his draft, playing one bad competition shouldn't affect his future by any means.

Is there any clip/video about Barkov's hit in last game?

So far Barkov hasn't really impressed, but mono and not playing or training for 6 weeks must take it's toll.

Canada match was already a lot better for him imo. Some Datsyuk-like takeovers.

Haapala played pretty well in the Canada game, he's very quick on the feet. Plus they've played in junior together so they're familiar with each other. Antonen though I didn't notice at all tbh.

People should remember Barkov's long illness before judging him too much.

But still i'd like to hear how he has fared in this competition?

After watching the Canada-game, all I can say is, that I´m very excited that we have a player like Barkov in Finland. The overall package that he brings at such a young age is pretty remarkable.

I followed him pretty closely and below you can find some good moments and one bad moment from yesterdays game Here is the link to the game: http://www.strizna.cz/video/canada-vs-finland-539.aspx

20:20, Nice move with the puck, but is forced to dump the puck after that.
23:30, manages to get a shot off from backhand, but couldnt capitalize the opportunity. Great save from the goalie.
36:24 a nice challenge on d-man, that leads to a good scoring chance.
38:13, loses a faceoff 0-100, and Canada immediately capitalizes 1 second before the end of the period.
60:57, Sasha marches in to Canada´s zone and a great feed to teammate who did not score.
70:30, Beautiful takeaway from a Canadian player.
70:40, Nice wrister from blueline, very effortless IMO.
105:54, Another nice takeway, where he outpowers the Canadian d-man.
109:18, nice feed to linemate from a difficult position, unluckily a close offside call.

He is still a little rusty with a puck and he did lose some key faceoffs at 3rd period, but other than that he looked very good. Also, he did not play powerplay a whole lot, couple of shifts in 1st period, but he was used on penalty kill.

He did not register a point, was -1, and won 60% of the faceoffs. Points will surely come as the tournament proceeds. Teräväinen´s line is probably playing the powerplays whenever they can, Barkov´s line is the 2nd unit, but they were not used that much.

But Barkov didn't play with Ikonen, he played with Haapala and Antonen. Ikonen was with Teuvo and Lehkonen.

He was 2nd line center for FEL team last year. Why should he go to CHL if he's pretty much lock for top 2 line center again in one of the best leagues in entire world? He's getting ice time, responsibility and everything is set perfectly for his developement. Hes getting very good coaching at next season aswell. He just signed 3 year deal last year. I don't see even slight chances him playing at CHL. i don't think that there is many top finnish players for 2013 draft class who's choosing the CHL route. It seems that it worked out for Olli Määttä so maybe Rasmus Ristolainen? but he has guaranteed spot from pro team aswell.

Doubtful, he made a multi-year contract with Tappara mens team, where he's pretty much guaranteed a medium to big role, so there really is no reason for him to go the CHL route. Plus he has strong ties to the organization as his dad is a team icon for Tappara.

By the sounds of it then he would be giving Mackinnon a run for his money just as much as Seth Jones is for the #1 pick.

There are many more important considerations a player his age has to think of than his draft position, which as of now looks to be very high nonetheless. If he goes to the CHL he has to adapt to the new culture, language, playing style... At his situation there's not much point to go even if that means he doesn't get to really challenge MacKinnon for 1st overall.

Edit: Plus he's going to be coached by Rautakallio, who has coached him previously in junior NT's, who has worked as some sort of head of development in junior NT. He really knows how to handle young guys and how to make the best of this young player.

You mean Rautakorpi. But yeah, I could not imagine Barkov and other Tappara prospects having better coach than Rautakorpi, who has been head of Finnish hockey development before his contract with Tappara. He'll sort out their organization and make the men's team competitive so it will be better environment for youth to develop in. I wouldn't be surprised to see 3 2013 eligible players (Barkov, Tanus, Mäkinen) to see significant time in SM-liiga next season under his watch.

I'm really hoping he can wake up the sleeping giant, it's about time for Tappara to return where they belong.

Barkov himself knows that developement is more important than draft position. You're probably right about him not getting as much attention in europe but he's getting quality coaching from probably best coach from Finland for developement who knows how to squeeze all potential from the players. This combination might be lottery win for Tapparat, Finland and to barkov.
