How many suspensions are there on average over a hockey season?
I'm wondering how long Shanahan can do this. I guess it's probably the easiest part of the job, look into the camera and remember the lines, but it'd probably get annoying over the course of the year.
No doubt people will overlay the audio of one suspension over the video of another when there are discrepancies between the length of two similar hits.
Maybe then people will realize that the length of suspensions isn't the issue (or sole issue), the main issue is respect between players. It's not trying to put a guy through the boards when he's in vulnerable position just to make the 'highlight of the night on TSN' or to become some type of youtube legend.
Am I missing something? This is a video about the rule, and how it applies. What does that have to do with specific suspensions?
I think you're missing the videos released as explanations for the PLLL and Shelley suspensions. In both of those videos, Shanahan explains how the hit in question violated the rules and outlined the specific conditions that led to the suspension length. It's believed that the league will release these kinds of videos for subsequent suspensions that are made.
I want Godard.. What's his salary??? Wonder why he'd be waived without even playin a game after signing a contract 2 months ago.. Weiiiiird...
Godard signed a two-way contract, so it's not all that out of left-field here. The Stars have Barch on a one-way contract for one more year, so they signed Godard to a two-year deal with the first year being two-way.
