We can hear PK subban take on what happened to Simmonds here.

I think its gutless and stupid. I wished someone caught the person doing this on camera.
Or the people sitting around them should have told security and got them kicked out.

"By us even talking about it, we're giving the person what he wants, I completely agree with overlords" - P.K Subban on the 'Wayne Simmonds Incident'

Giving politically correct answers is the way to go though...trust me, that's not what he or Simmons really think deep down inside.

Just having the idea of bringing a banana to a hockey game with the intention of throwing it on the ice towards a player is insane....

What a loser !

How many suspensions are there on average over a hockey season?

I'm wondering how long Shanahan can do this. I guess it's probably the easiest part of the job, look into the camera and remember the lines, but it'd probably get annoying over the course of the year.

No doubt people will overlay the audio of one suspension over the video of another when there are discrepancies between the length of two similar hits.

Maybe then people will realize that the length of suspensions isn't the issue (or sole issue), the main issue is respect between players. It's not trying to put a guy through the boards when he's in vulnerable position just to make the 'highlight of the night on TSN' or to become some type of youtube legend.

Am I missing something? This is a video about the rule, and how it applies. What does that have to do with specific suspensions?

Wiz might get suspended for a hit on Clutterbuck.

Might be a big suspension aswell considering his past. Headshot.

Also, Staubitz deserves at least 2 games for his reckless hit from behind.

Know what's funny? Eklund makes a post like this every 2-3 days:

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?p...9&blogger_id=1

And when Doughty signs he's going to say that he told us all along.

We've heard Colin Campbell describe two similar hits using the exact same criteria before where there are discrepancies in the length of the suspension.

You don't think people will comb through these videos and point out the contradictions if they occur? I'm not sure what you're asking.

I am asking why there is an assumption he will make multiple videos. This video is intended to be a reference, and a guideline.

BS is making individual videos with a replay of the punishable/questionable plays, explaining if and how it warrants suspension, and his criteria used for the decision.

They should be linked from the NHL home page....

I think you're missing the videos released as explanations for the PLLL and Shelley suspensions. In both of those videos, Shanahan explains how the hit in question violated the rules and outlined the specific conditions that led to the suspension length. It's believed that the league will release these kinds of videos for subsequent suspensions that are made.

Here's the Shelley video:

Not that I think we should claim any of these players, but here's a list of some notable names waived..

Dan Jancevski, Stefan Legein, Jason Bacashiua, Pavel Valentenko, Eric Godard, Ales Kotalik, Shaone Morrisson, Cristobal Huet and Wade Redden.

Godard signed a two-way contract, so it's not all that out of left-field here. The Stars have Barch on a one-way contract for one more year, so they signed Godard to a two-year deal with the first year being two-way.

Looked to me like Cooke even tried to position himself from the side when delivering the hit.
