I fail to see the humor in that.

Well Toskala has sucked so much that they have had to put him in during games when the game is like 0-4 and 1-5. Guess twice if the team is going to be hustling and playing great after that. (And Ilves sucks big time anyway, they are last in the league)

Bubbathud, it works both ways. It's not like only the Finns hate the Swedes .
BTW I don't hate the Swedes at all, just saying.

HF article about our prospects, some interesting opinions on Ryan Stoa

Quote:

Ryan Stoa, who has also been known to play center, is the next best left winger in Colorado's system. The big, bruising power forward is a force to be reckoned with around the crease, but has been plagued by inconsistency at both the AHL and NHL levels. Despite a rare combination of size and offensive skill, the 24-year-old is now six seasons removed from his draft year and finds himself beginning the 2011-12 campaign in the minors, where he has been held pointless through five games. Having signed a one-year extension this past summer, Stoa will again be playing for a new contract this season.
Someone droped the ball on that one, Stoa a bruising PWF?

I don't think Aittokallio has actually played for Ilves this season. He has yet to back up Toskala. With Wiikman on the Ilves roster, Aittokallio's only two starts have come with LeKi, essentially Ilves' minor league team.

No excuse for the performance, but whether its, LeKi or Ilves, Sami is having to win games alone over in Europe. Hope he hops the pond this summer.

Oops my bad. I'm really sory for this. I assumed that he had played, but forgot they had Wiikman as well. I'm really sorry.

Odd considering I came away with the impression that he had a very strong camp for us.

People shouldn't really base him off 2 games. I saw him live at camp and man he was good. Very calm and well positioned in net.

He's not gonna get alot of playing time with Ilves this year. That's too bad. Bad for his development, I mean there's Toskala(EX-NHL goalie) and Wiikman before him, so basically he's never gonna play. Surprised he's played in 2 games. He might get his chance next year though!

Our other goalie.......

Pickard: 3.61 GAA and .908 SV%

His team allows 40 shots per game so you can't blame him for those terrible numbers but I sure am glad that we got Varly.

I've never been impressed with Pickard the few times I've watched him on tv. Weird style. Kind of gets that locked in feel that Raycroft had. Poor lateral movement. Plus his butterfly slides around. He's never set.

I dunno, im not impressed.

I forgot about our other goalie prospects Kent Patterson and Kieran Milan. Might be darkhorse goalie prospects for the avs.

Hmmp.. Aittokallio is keeping his net clean today. 38 minutes played and 9 saves. His team is leading 2-0!

Avs would do well to buy out his contract and send him to Cleveland.

After assisting on the game-tying goal with 2 minutes left Stefan Elliott went on to score the OT GWG for LEM tonight

Gaunce scored the game-tying goal and assisted on Elliott's goal as well

I'm assuming that means they are paired together. I wonder how Gaunce has looked, I liked his play for the most part last year, and was hoping he'd continue to hulk up this summer, but didn't really hear much about him this summer.

I like the idea of a Gaunce-Elliott pairing, might get Gaunce's offense going again.

Didn't Gaunce go to the Roberts school?

I thought Gaunce would become our new Foote. Obviously still has the chance to.

He did last summer, didn't hear anything about it this summer. I still have pretty high hopes for Gaunce as well, I think he's one of those guys that the team will be rewarded for if they are patient with him.

Patterson with a 3rd shutout in 5 games. He is just on fire. Hasn't lost yet.

5-0-0 1.49GAA, .949sv%

I'm still amazed at his back to back wins last weekend that were 50 shots each 45 saves each. Sadly only .900sv% but seriously, exactly same shots both games? Exactly same amount of goals?

Also, Nate Condon, I'm only going off of statistics which is no indicator really but last year just 8G, 9A in 35 games. This year already 3G, 4A in 5games. On pace for 21G, 28A in the same amount of games.

Barrie scored two goals for LEM tonight including the GWG in OT.
Elliott assisted on the GWG as well.

I'm really excited looking forward to see these guys play in the NHL
