I know theres an edit...but watch these...he is a top 5 heavyweight.

I know you've seen the few where orr beats carkner but carkner has also beaten orr...

destroys glass...one of the more lopsided fights of the last few years...

Kills downie...another one of the more lopsided fights recently...

I know you edited but i had to show he wins most of his fights...many in convincing fashion.

I'd take a seventh round pick for Carkner to be honest

K, buddy.
Orr 4 = 4 spankings
Carkner 1 = 1 fluke win.

Please rephrase that, everyone knows Carkner is Orr's female dog.

And Carkner's an infinitely more useful player than Orr, so who cares?

What is Spacek's contract situation? If it expires this year, I would do that (at the deadline).

We do NOT need cap space for this season, and Spacek comes off the books at the end of the season. We do not have to convince another team to take Spacek off our hands by giving up a 2nd round pick, a pick the Habs put to great value, just to get rid of Spacek's cap hit. Carkner is not worth a 2nd.

I would consider trading Palushaj+5th for Carkner+3rd.

What do Habs and Sens fans think of that?

Do you ever have any intelligent or interesting to say?

Matt Carkner averaged about 15 minutes of ice-time while playing as a good shutdown defenceman. Colton Orr averaged about 4 minutes of ice-time while being good for nothing but an intimidation role. Good for Orr winning those fights against Carkner, he'll have alot of fun serving more penalty minutes because of that fight in the box than he will on the ice for the remainder of the night.

The Orr/Carkner **** has been done. Orr's a better fighter, sure. Get off your high-horse, buddy. We have the better player.

ON TOPIC: I'd be happy to get a 3rd round pick for Carkner, but I'm expecting a 4th/5th.

Even a guy like Michael Bournival would be of interest, even though he won't likely be a top 6er. Galiev, Palushaj, Shugg, Ryan Bourque, Toni Rajala, Avtsin, etc. are all recently drafted 3rd or 4th rounders I might be interested in. Just throwing names out there very broadly, I'm sure some of those guys wouldn't be available but its just an example.
I think Murray had a pic of Howson with a goat to get Filatov for a 3rd. Maybe he has one of PG too.

Why did you even quote me? What did you bring into this conversation?

-Someone said does carkner ever win fights?
-i said yes...and also said im sure everyone's seen carkner lose to orr...but what many don't know, is orr has lost to carkner as well. I provided video.

Everything i said was true and usefull to this conversation.

What did your little mind bring? Nothing?

Yay! congrats! a leaf fan who doesn't know what he's talking about or what he's doing! Good job little man.

you sound like a bitter, jealous leaf fan who goes into any thread about the sens, and trashes them, or any thread about the leafs, and praises them regardless of the subject at hand.

I was gonna say i bet you get ridiculed on a regular basis but i don't even have to assume, i know. This makes multiple times on one page alone.

To be honest, Carkner's vlaue to the Sens is worht more then what we would get for him in return.

A bottom pairing defenceman capable of playing 15 minutes a night and also on the pk and one of the top heavyweights in the NHL are hard to com by. That being said he is still a bottom pairing defenceman.

I'd rather hang onto him then to deal him...

No thanks, I am very reluctant to trade down picks right now. take out the picks and I would do it I think.

Agree with this, but I would trade him at the deadline. Even now, we're very deep at D and that will only get deeper as time goes by. I really like Carkner and would welcome him back if we had space for him though.

I agree. It doesn't hurt to hold onto him, then at the deadline see what is offered for him. Physical depth defensemen are always a coveted commodity to teams loading up for the the playoffs.

Could easily fetch a third, maybe even a second if there aren't many blueliners of his ilk available.

Have you seen the size of Downie and Glass?

Tanner Glass
Height 6.01 -- Weight 210

Steve Downie
Height 5.10 -- Weight 192

Matt Carkner
Height 6.04 -- Weight 229

It would have been embarassing if he didn't win those handly. He is a slightly more valuable version of John Scott.

Well, that is why it is called a negotiation. Ok, I agree, Palushaj for Carkner (damn I hate losing Palushaj!! You have to give to get, though.). Let's call our respective GMs and get the deal done.

Doesnt fit our need whatsoever. We don't need roster players, at least not ones that anyone would give for Carkner.

Well I'd take roster players, but young forwards with potential. And I don't mean stud top 6 type guys, but I'd take on guys that are near NHL-ready that could play in the NHL, but aren't sure things. I think that's equivalent to a 3rd round pick.

You're either missing the point, or haven't read the previous posts. the poster i was responding asked if he ever won fights. Doesn't matter how big the opponents were, doesn't change the fact that the answer is "yes". I then provided evidence.

Also both those guys started the fights. Glass challenged carkner right off the draw. Downie threw the first punch. Is carkner supposed to back down?

Anyway. Someone said, does he ever win fights. The answer is yes, and some drastically. I then provided proof. What do you have a problem with?

No they wouldn't, but they need a few more multi-role guys like Carkner if they don't want to get b*&@hslapped by tougher teams (like Boston) in the playoffs.

2nd round picks have been traded for less!

Not saying it would happen or that Montreal specifically would make the move, but I wouldn't be surprised either way.
