Why does anyone vote Rinaldo? He's good at hitting and that's it. He takes so many penalties, blindsides #2 on the list at training camp, gets suspensions. Having him on this team makes us worse.

testwuide, admittedly i don't know enough of the other listed. I still find in shocking that holmstrom, read and sestito all went before testwuide.

Lauridsen. I think he probably has at a minimum two more years before he comes anywhere near the NHL, but I think if he develops properly he could be a solid second pairing shut-down D-man.

Testwuide. He is closer than anyone else on the list who will contribute positively for the team (sorry Rinaldo doesnt count)

Booo effin' hoooo.

Rinaldo kicks ass. He provides a ton of energy with his shifts. He's our new Downie, altough with less offensive upside. Still, i love this kid.

And even adds more ******! We always need atleast 1 dumass on the team or some fans arent happy. Now that Carcillo is gone, that spot needs to be filled.

Any comparison to Downie is an insult to him and his skillset.

He didn't blindside Couturier. It was an open ice hit while Couts was following through on a shot, and Lauridsen made contact with him at the same time. That hit is getting terribly overblown, it wasn't a bad hit at all.

If you want to complain about a sketchy hit, go after him leaving his feet open ice to hit Hostetter, or headhunting on Placek along the boards.

Ok so replace one bad hit with 2 and its even worse. The exact reason I don't like the guy is that he is so undisciplined

he'll probably get his shot, and he'll have to know he's on a short leash. A bad penalty or three, a goal allowed while he's in the box...he may become a last resort or a career AHLer.

I've gone with Lauridsen for the last 3 so I might as well keep it up. I think of our d prospects he has the highest ceiling. In a related story he also comes closest to the ceiling.

I'm going completely off board here, but I'm going with Niko Hovinen. According to Bill Meltzer and Euroflyers, Hovinen has really put it all together in terms of physical and mental play. He's been nothing short of fantastic since last year and already in pre-season games in the Finnish Elite League, he's picked up from where he left off last year. I know he plans on playing one more year in Finland to fine tune things then he's coming over to North America. Looking forward to when he gets here.

I am also pulling for Marshall but i give my vote here to Noebels.

Im excited at having a german prospect in our system. and Marshall has yet to show anything worth desire it seems as a pro.

I love Marshall but I'm glad our system has somewhat been able to push a guy performing under par a little further out than he was considered last year.

I think we did well at the draft.

I wont vote for Marshall, The kid has had more then enough chances to prove himself and he hasnt improved enough to warrant consiteration of top 10 prospect status.

I also think its worth noting that Bobrovsky could also still be considered as a prospect. Sure, we was thrown into the fire for a while. He did well, too. Now though, he's back to being a student. Bryzy is a workhorse and has no chance of losing his starting spot. I am not sure of the implications of Bobs contract but it would be nice if he could spend time back and forth between the Phantoms and the big team. He may be in need for a minor league confidence booster after the end of last season.

Prospects are players who haventt played significant time in the NHL. Also, he has a one way contract so he can't go back and forth.

Why not just call Giroux, JVR, Voracek, and Nodl prospects while we're at it?

1. Claude Giroux - 8.5A
2. James vanRiemsdyk - 8.5B
3. Brayden Schenn - 8.5C
4. Sean Couturier - 8.5C
5. Jakub Voracek - 8.0B
6. Sergei Bobrovsky - 8.0B
7. Erik Gustafsson - 7.0C
8. Eric Wellwood - 6.5B
9. Andreas Nodl - 6.5B
10. Brendan Ranford - 7.5D

See why Bobrovsky's not a prospect anymore?

haha ok there champ, fantastic comparisons for a suggestion

If you look around the HF site you would see that there are plenty of similarly aged goalies with comparable nhl experience and more pro experience, too, that are still listed as prospects.
Reimer, Bernier, Enroth, Holtby, Peters to name a few.

See how i could have made that suggestion as a possibility, Im talking goalies here?
