Which U.S. born defender will be the best?

Who will be the best defender out of this group?

John Blum-(Playing behind Weber/Suter)
Nick Leddy-(Playing behind Keith/Seabrook)
John Carlson-(Top shutdown pair with Alzner)
Zach Bogosian-(Behind Enstrom/Big Buff)
Ryan McDonagh-(Behind Staal/Girardi)

I'm glad no one thinks much of Leddy. Let him fly under the radar. Carlson will end up the best of the group.

He's not really flying under the radar, he just happens to have 3 solid defenseman above him in this particular group.

Or are you predicting he will be better than Carlson or Bogosian, or Blum?

I hate it when people do this. Just because he's last doesn't mean he bad?

Look at Kessel, picked last at the All-Star game. Doesn't mean he's a terrible player, in fact he is a great player

I love Carlson as much as any other USA fan for what he did in the gold medal game, and I also love the style he plays (consistent offensive with very good defensive skills as well), but I am in the minority yet again, as I frequently am on HF, saying that I think Blum will end up being the best.

This is how I rate them as well although I think Leddy will be better than McDonagh and might be the biggest surprise in this group of players.
