With Oleksiak reporting to Team Canada, Tinordi has a lot more chance to make the team this year. It would be great to see how effective he could be defensively against the best players in the world of his age.
I think you all missed the main point of the article:
Tinordi is now 215 pounds.
What a beast he'll be, at 6'7'', 220+ in a year or two.
220 is still major skinny for a man his size. He won't be able to use his size to his advantage if he's not atleast 240 when he has a spot ith the Habs.

Pronger is playing at 6'6 220 and he is big, mean and powerfull.

Pronger has been between 210 and 220 pounds these last couple of seasons, yet he's a physical beast.

Maybe Jared Tinordi will become the first man in the history of the world to fill out in his late-teens/early-20's.

Yes....and Pronger has also mentioned that he'd be ineffective if he weighed any more.

I never said he was done filling out, I just think that 215 is really skinny for a 6'7 man. Look at how much players like Chara, Gill, Valabik, O'Byrne, Komisarek, Carkner, etc all weigh in. Tinordi is primarily a physical shutdown defensmens and the weight will be more of an advantage to him then it would of been for Pronger.

lol
Tinordi is no Pronger, Pronger has 15 years of strength, Tinordi could never be that strong @ 215.
Pronger can't carry the excess weight at his age otherwise he'd lose speed. Tinordi and youngerr players in general are young & quick enough to carry some bulk and not lose speed.

Steroids?
Tinordi needs to hit the weights and hit the all you can eat buffets.

Aside from Chara (who is a freak of nature) all those other players are nothing more than, at most, average skaters. I want Tinordi to still be able to somewhat agile on his skates.

It's not because he's not massively huge that he can't use his size to his advantage.
You can be a skinny 6'7 guy and still be physically strong.

How many of those guys can skate as well as Tinordi? Of course I haven't watched Mr. etc. recently.
Is a lock to make the team now, since Jones is a 94 born? Also Jesus the American defense is huge.
People are saying Jones could definitely make the team. He's been incredible, despite being at least a year younger than anyone else. Might challenge MacKinnon for #1 in 2013.
Somebody posted in another topic that Tinordi's competition is probably Austin Levi, which I agree with. If you look at the LD's, there's Tinordi, Levi, Forbort, and Merrill. Forbort and Merrill are both returnees, and pretty much locks to make the squad, leaving Tinordi and Levi to battle it out for the final LD spot.
Anyway great to see Tinordi doing well so far, hopefully he can keep it up and make the team in December.
My cousin is 6'7 230lbs and he's not a fat guy in the slightest. Obviously he works out but yeah, 6'7 215 isn't as big as you guys think. He could stand to add another 10-15 in muscle even. Now I know everyone is built differently and obviously my cousin isn't training for the MMA or anything but I'm sure Tinordi could add a ton more muscle before the NHL and he'll have plenty of time to. (Even 5lbs would be just fine though, I think some are also overestimating how important the size thing is for a guy already 6'7". We want him to be mobile)

Don't really know much about Levi. What would you say Tinordi's chances are if you had to give a number?
