Although parting ways with Vanek has been one of the hardest realities to accept. The right offer finally came, and the deal took more then 4 days to pull through.

Vanek being one of our top pointers last season will be sorely missed. However the addition of a cheap top 6 winger, a top pairing defenseman and a 3rd round pick which we lost to the signing of Steve Mason, just seemed right.

If Ladd see's another top minute season next year, he should finally notch a 30-35 goal season. He's a year younger then Vanek, and will be looking for a new contract at the end of next year, so we hope he shows us he's worth the money.

Although Jay Bouwmeester has now been labeled as an overpaid defenseman in this league, and his point drop has been frowned upon. We feel that he is still young, and will be hitting his prime in the years to come. We expect a bounce back season for him sometime in the near future.

Thanks! I still need to add some forward depth. But I should be able to now that I have a little cap space to work with. I solidified a great top line and a strong defense.

Either him or Sturm will play on Keslers wing so either Sturm or Higgins will score 40+ points next year, I don't mind if it's either seeing as there both on my team.
