Post lockout - our great start to the season

Which year was it? We went like 20-1-0 or something in the first few months. Anyone remember? I think our first loss was to the hurricanes

07-08 I believe. Then the team fell off the map and made the playoffs in 8th place.

Ya we were something like 19-3-1 to start 07-08....basically collapsed after that and squeeked into the playoffs....and were swept.

07-08, yeah. Not gonna look it up, but I'm pretty sure we started 15-2. Then we lost like 8 games in a row, then won 7 in a row...then the rest of the season was all over the place.

Nah we tanked on purpose to select Karlsson that year

good times, good times.....the only positive was Alfie shocking the hockey world and suiting up for game 3 on only one leg(torn hamstring)......when I found out he was taking the warmup and going to play.....I **** myself, I still get goosebumps thinking about it.....what a lift(even though we lost)

The same year that we made a huge splash and picked up Marty Lapointe at the deadline.

There were two years where we had insane starts, 05/06 where we went 19-3, and 07/08 where we went 13-1. Carolina broke the streak both times; game 7 in 05 and game 6 in 07.

Does anyone have NHL 09? Every time you started a dynasty mode, your best dmen were Jason Smith and Filip Kuba, how terrible

Hard to believe that was the end result the next season after one the best start in history.

07-08, right after the cup run, we dominated. Right about until end of November, then we went downhill from there

If you ask me, ever since the Detroit game when Heatley hurt his shoulder (Game was in January, we went dead from there)

07-08

A one line team, when that line got tired and injured from being double shifted we sucked hard.

didn't we trade up our pick that year with Nashville so we could select him?

Remember not to go to the washroom at around the 14th pick otherwise you'll miss Murray trading up and miss Karlsson being selected

In fairness, he was a game changer.

I recall him taking a late penalty that led to a PPG that led to a loss.

Game changer.

After Heatley got injured, he got a hat trick the first game back. It really got my hopes up.

Redden got beat down by whitney in the playoffs too, IIRC.

I honestly was so disappointed by that. It was the final nail in the coffin. We were sucking, and Reds was doing everything he possibly could for the team and to stick, but he just lost his talent. Really sad.

Wasn't this the same year we got Stillman and Commodore? I thought that trade would work out soooo much better than it did

Stillman actually was quite effective in his short stint here.....it was my understanding that the only reason we didn't resign him is because he wanted to be closer to his family in Carolina, which led to him signing in Florida instead.

That's too bad. Always liked Stillman. Consistent, well rounded vet.
