Did I miss out?

I went to a sports store today to sell some of my old baseball gear when I was about 11 (In HS now) and they said I could get $16 in trade in.

So I went streight to the hockey gear, and they had nothing of intrest except a shaft of a Bauer XXXX stick for $20. It had the blade sawed off, so I would have to put a blade (Probably a 15-16 doller wood one) into the handle of it. But I already have a TotalOne and X60, So I bought a soccer ball instead

Do you think I missed out? Would it have been worth 20 bucks + old baseball crap that doesn't fit me to have a XXXX with a wood blade in it the wrong way? How much does it effect it to have it upside down?

Putting a wood blade into the handle end would only change the kickpoint a bit and perhaps the feel. A setup like that is definitely worth the money, but you might not want to use it for any games, perhaps just for fooling around with or street hockey (use ABS blades for that).

Bauer XXXX vapor was a very good stick even last year, I used it all season.

If you already have a Total One and a X60, you made the right choice. Sawed off shafts aren't worth anything.

Honestly people, it isn't that hard to turn a sawed off shaft into a tapered stick. You don't have to flip it and ruin all of the characteristics that make a high end stick worthwhile.

That said, I wouldn't spend $20 for one. Make one yourself when one of your two sticks breaks. You only need two at a time, and those are good ones.

Also, I love my XXXX.
