Strome's upside is as high as anyone in the draft.

what you guys think of that?
Really good overall, but maybe switch Noesen & Armias rating cause i feel Armias ceiling as a sniper, while I see Noesen as more of a Foligno type.

I don't think any prospect is an A at this point, particularly Danault.

I see too many question marks around Bealieu and Brodin for them to be 7.5 B's.

Be reminded I'm just nitpicking, cause i agree with 90% of these ratings.

I know I'm going ro sound like a ridiculous homer, but I feel Nicklas Jensen has a huge upside. Granted I've only seen him play 9 or 10 games, but he seems like, if he puts it all together, he could be winger version of Jeff Carter. Personally, I'd give give him an 8.0D because of the aforementioned potential, combined with the high bust probability that allowed him to drop to 29.

Huberdeau should have 8.5, he has higher upside than Zibanejad and Landeskog imo.

Seems about right. Not really that out of line either, e.g. last year Pysyk (23th overall) got a 7.5B. Etem got a pretty high rating too (can't recall what it was, though).

Why does anybody get a B except for Ladeskog. If you have a B, it means you're about to step into the NHL, and you're close to your top potential.

Are you telling me that guys like Biggs, Klefbom and Percy are going to be solid top line players this season or next?

Actually no, that's not what it means.

Quote:
Realistic Probability Rating (A-F)
(the player's realistic chances of achieving their potential)
Quote:
B - Should reach potential, could drop 1 rating - likely to reach potential, but may have a hole or two in his game that will keep him from reaching his full potential. The potential rating is multiplied by 90 percent for depth chart purposes, which indicates slightly less certainty about a player’s future performance.

I'd give RNH and Larsson 9.0C or 8.5B. Similar to Seguin, Duchene and Hedman. They have the highest upside. It's just a question of whether or not they can put it all together.

You're wrong. The B means simply that this player is more likely to reach their given potential. I'd say Klefbom is pretty likely to be a top-4 dman down the road. Biggs (IMO) is pretty likely to be a solid second-line power forward.

That rating is probably most accurate, still, I feel he should have at slighty higher upside than just a quality third liner. I get some feel his offensive upside may be limited, and I certainly don't think he has huge offensive upside, but he has enough to be a 2nd line winger/centre IMO..

7.0B is what I'd give him.

It also means that they could be one level behind, 8 becomes 7, 7 becomes 6. Saying a player is 7.5B guarates he is going to be an NHLer, and IMO this is something that you can't say about guys drafter past 3 or 4. These guys have a long road to the NHL, and some, perhaps many, will not make it. The number prove it.

This. OP clearly has no knowledge of Armia if he has him as a 7C.

what you guys think of that?
So you see Nicklas Jensen, Zack Phillips, Matt Puempel, Joe Morrow, Mark McNeill among others as better prospects than Armia. And even more that you see four of them having a higher upside. That's bold. I think Armias upside is a 9, but the letters arent enough to tell how far he is from it. But maybe 8.5D or 9E are close enough.

So basically you're saying the same thing he is, you just like having the satisfaction of seeing a 9 or 8.5.

What? What I've understood of prospect grades is that the number represents the upside, the letter the possibility of getting there. 9E (I saw that HF doesn't even have the E rating, it jumps straight to F according to this: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/playerprojections/) is a player that in Armias case has a possibility to be elite forward.

Player with a 7C has the tools to become a second liner at his best.

So I'm saying Armia has a chance to become a hockey god in the city he plays in. Those others don't, also Armia has a better chance to become a second liner than those others in my mind. Nothing to do with satisfaction of seeing numbers over the other. Just about their potential.

I dont think Connor Murphy should have the same rating as those picked in the same area. His upside is higher but teams shied away because of his injury and limited viewings. So that should result in greater upside (number) but lower likelihood of reaching it than someone like Noesen or Biggs.

And my initial thoughts on Boston's remaining picks

Khokhlachev - 7.5C I think he'll be a first-liner with dynamic potential, but he's not there yet. He was top-20 in several mocks I saw, and just outside in many others. He's got 8.0 talent, but to avoid cries of homerism, I'll stick to 7.5 :/
Camara - 6.0C - Very solid young man (17 till September, as is Khokho) looks like a smaller, better-skating lucic-esque guy. Better skill than initially billed, but still looks like a 3rd or 4th-liner.
Ferlin - 6.5C - Strong offensive instincts, good speed and mobility (even though he looks a bit awkward) and a nice shot... second, perhaps third line ability if he pans out - but he's got a loooong way to go.
O'Gara - 6.5D - Big, intelligent and mobile defender might have the stuff to be a solid second-pairing guy, but his path to the NHL may be long (spending another year at Milton before heading to Yale ... not exactly a "pro factory") and there's a good possibility it will get derailed. Like what I've seen, though.
Volden - 7.0D - Very athletic and talented Norwegian netminder for the Blues of SM-L... he has some decent NHL potential but will have to shake some of the issues which troubled him to reach it.
