Also, those without a selective memory will also be able to admit that while playing with Gomez to start the season, Gionta was getting plenty of opportunities, he just couldn't burry them as they say, meaning that the scoring chances were there.

I may be wrong but it sure seems like in previous years when the coaches, whoever they might be, were blamed for AK's lack of production, some people are once again looking for excuses to justify his lack of success. Eventually, a mirror might just be what AK needs instead of pointing fingers in every which direction...
That's were chemistry comes into play. Gionta and Gomez have chemistry. Ak and Gomez don't have chemistry. Simple as that.

Right, but that's not what is important.
What you should be comparing is the number of times Gionta was completed by TWO top six players compared to AK, because neither Gionta nor AK were able to produce much of anything when paired with Gomez and a scrapper.
You also have to take into consideration that Gionta played over 300 more minutes.

Simply looking at the amount of time he played with Gomez is useless.

Absolutely right. This is a big reason why some defended Gomez. His line was lacking finish most of the time, not opportunities, which was mostly due to having a third player playing out of his role.

Before, the book wasn't out on AK. He was still a prospect. But now, I don't understand how anybody could expect anything more from AK other than a 50ish pt season, which is pretty much what he had last year. Sure, he has some great talent, but nobody should expect more from him.
He will be inconsistent throughout a season, like a bunch of other top6 players in the NHL(Cole is an example btw). He will however, consistently put up 45-50pts/ 20-25g throughout his career.
What he has improved last year though is his defensive/two way game.

Good o'l American boy Pacioretty does it, it's okay because he's Pacioretty! (Had proven nothing at the time. Also his comments were the same essentially he was being and ass and just saying "**** it if you aren't going to give me a top 6 role" I don't know how that part isn't clear to some. How is that different versus AK wanting more ice time? LOL)

Evil Russian Andrei Kostitsyn does it to a Belarus journalist who looks like a fat Chris Higgins, it isn't okay because you guessed it, it's Andrei Kostitsyn. (Has had 20g+ seasons multiple times)

No euro haters here though

If I remember correctly most people around here actually agreed with Pacioretty and cursed Martin

Queue member of the haters club to use the tired cliche that Pacioretty tries harder than Andrei.

valid points

my only hope is that somehow (and I'd be pissed too if I was AK) Andrei relishes the role on the 3rd and we get 3 very solid scoring lines. The bruins had depth (although I think we did too if you don't count the injuries) and AFA the Canucks, I think this year we might have even more depth (although less Sedins...then again, didn't matter in the end). The key is getting everyone on the same page and as long as AK wants to play to win (which, unless he's the one scoring, doesn't seem to be his MO) we will be awesome. The good lockeroom thing needs to extend to this to smooth things over with Kostitsyn because we really need him if we are going to contend. Hopefully Markov has a talk with him and JM doesn't give him the cold shoulder (if in fact that's what he does...we don't actually know) since Muller isn't around.

That must be it Neo. How dare people not seeing things our way, right? They must be sexist, racist or pessimists because they don't think like me...

Come on buddy, you are better than that!
